During Bachelor In Paradise season 6, Kristian Haggerty and Demi Burnett got engaged, but they broke up soon after, and now Kristian has proposed to her girlfriend, YouTuber Taylor Blake. In 2019, Kristian and Demi broke ground as the first LGBTQ+ couple to be featured and get engaged on Bachelor In Paradise. Demi revealed that she had been dating a woman before she arrived in Paradise and could not stop thinking about her while she was in Mexico. Kristian soon joined Bachelor In Paradise, and they left engaged. However, they broke up in October 2019. Kristian found comfort in her best friend, Taylor, whom she grew up with in south Florida, and they eventually fell in love.
In an Instagram post, Kristian announced that she proposed to Taylor on December 14, sharing a series of photographs documenting the event. The Bachelor In Paradise alum captioned her post, "SHE SAID YES!!! Now until eternity with the woman who completes me! This ring symbolizes the commitment I already had to the love of my life." Kristian went on to say that she loves Taylor "more than anything" and that she is "excited to share" the rest of her life with her now-fiancé, adding, "12.14.22 the best night of my life. We’re better together, this is us overall @hiitaylorblake."

Kristian's fellow Bachelor In Paradise season 6 contestants congratulated the happy couple in the comments section of her post. Katie Morton wrote, "So happy for you!!! Congratulations you two." Caelynn Miller-Keyes, who recently got engaged to Dean Unglert, said, "Yesss!! Congratulations!!!" Blake Horstmann offered a "Congrats!!!" while Sydney Lotuaco wrote, "The most beautiful love!! I’m so so happy for you two!! Congratulations!!" In addition, Bachelor Nation alums Taylor Nolan and Kelley Flanagan sent their love to Kristian and Taylor.
Although Kristian and Demi were one of the most important Bachelor In Paradise couples of all time, their love did not last after the show. However, they made their mark on Bachelor Nation and have hopefully paved the way for the show to be more inclusive. Fans have followed Kristian since Bachelor In Paradise season 6 ended and are happy to see her in a loving relationship with Taylor. In the meantime, Bachelor In Paradise fans have been calling for Demi to be the first bisexual lead of The Bachelorette, especially since she recently expressed interest in taking on the role.
During Bachelor In Paradise season 6, Kristian proved that not only could fans fall in love with a contestant who had never been seen on any other Bachelor franchise show but that they would accept a relationship that broke the mold of the typical romance seen on the shows. Fans have been asking for more diversity in Bachelor Nation ever since, but they have not yet been granted that wish. Kristian helped to break down barriers on Bachelor In Paradise, and fans will forever be grateful to her.
