The reality show Bachelor in Paradise has featured contestants who once appeared on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, and we're about to talk about the reality stars who redeemed themselves on BIP. Those who were villains during their seasons often change completely once they arrive in Mexico, by becoming a lot more likable. The BIP environment is very different than The Bachelor or The Bachelorette environments, so it allows certain contestants to be seen in a more positive way.

The dating reality series began in 2014, following the end of Bachelor Pad. ABC needed a third series as a way for unsuccessful The Bachelor and The Bachelorette contestants to get a second chance at love. Over the years, BIP has become a must-watch show in the franchise, as viewers find the series to be more laid-back and less demanding than other franchise offerings. Many past contestants actually preferred their time on BIP. In particular, four contestants were able to redeem themselves on BIP.

Nick Viall

After receiving the villain edit on Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe's The Bachelorette seasons, Nick quickly redeemed himself during BIP season three. He was praised for not engaging in verbal or physical fights with Josh Murray, who would often try to antagonize him. He also won accolades for being open and honest with Jen Saviano about their relationship during the final rose ceremony. His redemption led to Nick, who bought a house in North Hollywood last year, being named the next Bachelor.

Taylor Nolan

When Taylor appeared on Nick's season, she was criticized for using her education to make herself seem superior to fellow contestant Corrine Olympios. While Corrine got the main villain edit of the season, some weren't too fond of Taylor's self-righteousness. However, viewers started to warm up to her once she arrived in Mexico and began a relationship with Derek Peth. The couple got engaged during the aftershow but broke up a year later.

Krystal Nielson

Viewers weren't a fan of Krystal while she was vying for Arie Luyendyk's heart during season 22. Once she arrived in Paradise for season five, fans got to see the real Krystal. She became likable and didn't put on her fake "baby voice," which she would often do when she was around Arie. Krystal quickly found love with Chris Randone and the pair were engaged by the end of the season. They were married in Paradise the following year. Unfortunately, the relationship did not work out and the couple divorced less than a year after they tied the knot.

Demi Burnett

Demi Burnett

During Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor, Demi Burnett was perceived as the villain. She was called out for making ageist remarks about the older women of the house and for cheating in group date challenges. After she arrived in Paradise for season six, fans grew to love her for being open and honest about her sexuality. Demi revealed that she had a girlfriend back home, who was then invited to join her on the beach. They were engaged by the end but have since broken up.

Over the years, a number of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette contestants have been able to redeem themselves after receiving villain edits on one of the best reality dating showsBachelor in Paradise. Not only did they redeem themselves, but they also became fan favorites in Bachelor Nation. Maybe Queen Victoria Larson will get the chance as well for season seven, which is set to premiere later this summer.
