Bachelor In Paradise fan-favorite couple Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon welcomed their first baby together, a son named Dawson Demitri, on January 31. Ashley and Jared met in Bachelor In Paradise season 2 in 2015. From the start, Ashley felt that she and Jared were soulmates, but they did not become a couple until 2018. He proposed in June 2018, and they were married on August 11, 2019. In July 2021, Ashley and Jared announced that they were expecting a baby, and the following month, they revealed that the baby would be a boy.
Throughout her pregnancy, Ashley was very candid about her struggles, including morning sickness and other ailments, in order to help other pregnant women know that they are not alone. They announced Dawson's name during an Amazon Live broadcast, explaining that he is named after Leonardo DiCaprio's character in Ashley's favorite movie, Titanic. Earlier this month, Ashley temporarily moved from her home in Rhode Island with Jared to her parents' home in Virginia because she wanted to give birth at the hospital where her father has worked as an anesthesiologist for the past 28 years. Jared commuted back and forth because he was working in Rhode Island at the couple's new café, Audrey's, which opened in December. This past weekend, the couple announced that Jared had rushed to Virginia before an expected snowstorm on the East Coast because the doctors thought that Ashley might give birth.
In a post on Instagram, Jared announced Dawson's birth. Dressed in a backwards baseball cap and a sweatshirt with his favorite football player Tom Brady's name on it, Jared was all smiles in a video he shared from the hospital. The caption read, "Baby Dawson is here and healthy! Ashley is recovering and doing well! It really couldn’t have gone much smoother. He’s so sweet & beautiful and has been sleeping all day. Unlike his Mom and Dad who are on no sleep right now but it’s totally worth it!" In the video, Jared said that Ashley's labor went well, and that they were going to eat and then sleep.
Jared thanked everybody for asking about the baby and said with a smile that they are "very excited for you guys to see Dawson. I know that's so weird." The proud father seemed to be in sweet disbelief that his son is finally here in the world. Jared concluded the video by saying that everyone is doing well, and they are all healthy. He gave a thumbs up before ending the video.
Bachelor In Paradise fans have been anticipating Dawson's birth since Ashley and Jared announced that they were expecting a baby. Since they have a strong social media presence, they will most likely share pictures and videos of the baby in the next few days. With parents like Ashley and Jared, Dawson is sure to be surrounded by love for his whole life.
