Bachelor In Paradise stars Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon shared the first photographs of their baby son, Dawson, and revealed a change to his name. The fan-favorite couple met during Bachelor In Paradise season 2 in 2015 and became a couple in 2018. Jared proposed in June 2018, and they were married on August 11, 2019. In July 2021, they announced that they were expecting a baby. The following month, Ashley and Jared revealed that the baby would be a boy.
In an Amazon Live broadcast in January 2022, Ashley and Jared announced that they would name their son Dawson. He is named after Leonardo DiCaprio's character in Ashley's favorite movie, Titanic. In January, Ashley temporarily relocated from her and Jared's home in Rhode Island to her parents' home in Virginia because she wanted to give birth at the hospital where her father has worked as an anesthesiologist for the past 28 years. Jared commuted from Rhode Island because he was working at the couple's coffee shop, Audrey's, which opened in December 2021. During the last weekend of January, Jared rushed to Virginia before an expected snowstorm on the East Coast because the doctors thought that Ashley might give birth. On January 31, Ashley and Jared welcomed Dawson into the world.
In a post on Instagram, Ashley shared the first photographs of Dawson, including some pictures of the family at the hospital right after he was born. In the caption, she shared that Dawson entered the world on a very important day in their family because January 31 is her mother's birthday and the day that her parents met 44 years ago. She said that they had the best labor and delivery experience, even though she had feared it, and said that "it wasn't that bad!" She thanked INOVA Fairfax Hospital and the NOVA Group For Women. Ashley concluded the post with a sweet description of Dawson and a hint at a change to his name, saying, "Right now we’re enjoying the sleepiest, calmest baby we’ve ever met. Dawson did not get his chill from his parents. He did get his feet from me, his chin from Jared, one of his names from a Leo character, and another one of his names from, well, see Jared’s IG caption. We love him so much and are feeling so blessed!!"
In his Instagram post, Jared included a black and white photo of himself holding Dawson and captioned it, "Meet Dawson Dimitri Brady Haibon." The name "Brady" was added to Dawson's name to honor NFL star Tom Brady, who announced his retirement on February 1 after much speculation over the weekend. Tom is Jared's favorite football player, and he even wore a sweatshirt with his name on it in the delivery room. Ashley and Jared said in their Amazon Live video that they considered Brady as a name instead of Dawson at one point. Another slight change to Dawson's full name is the spelling of Dimitri, which they had spelled "Demitri" in their Amazon Live video. Jared also included some photos and videos on his Instagram Story, including the moments leading up to the couple leaving for the hospital and Dawson's first moment outside as he left the hospital. The proud parents will surely document many more of Dawson's milestones throughout the years.
Ashley and Jared's son, Dawson, is now a member of the Bachelor In Paradise family. Their friends and fans from Bachelor Nation already love him so much. Ashley and Jared are proud and loving parents. Dawson is a lucky baby to be surrounded by so much love.
