Bachelor Nation had an eventful 2021, and now the stars are sharing their New Year's resolutions as they welcome 2022. There were many ups and downs with their relationships throughout the year. The year began with Matt James' controversial season. Although they eventually reconciled and are still together, Matt and his final rose recipient, Rachael Kirkconnell, initially broke up because of her past behavior that some considered racist. When Chris Harrision defended her, he faced much criticism, and eventually left the franchise. In 2021, the engagements of the last three Bachelorette seasons ended, including Clare Crawley and Dale Moss, Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark, and Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes. However, Michelle Young and her fiancé, Nayte Olukoya, have given fans hope that love can last when it is found on the show.

This past summer's season of Bachelor In Paradise was much more successful, as it gave us some of the most beloved couples in the history of the show. Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt, Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin, and Riley Christian and Maurissa Gunn were all engaged at the end of the season and are still going strong. Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs, and Abigail Heringer and Noah Erb rekindled their relationships after the show ended, and they are still together and very much in love. Bachelor In Paradise season 4 lovebirds Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk got married in April and are expecting their first child in January. Season 5 contestants Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt had their first child, a boy named August, in November. Fan favorite couple Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon will welcome their first baby in February. Although they did not marry anyone from the show, former Bachelors Jesse Palmer and Ben Higgins also tied the knot this year. Jesse will be the host of the upcoming season of The Bachelor.
