Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell from this past season of The Bachelor reunited in New York City after spending time together in Los Angeles last month. The pair met while Rachael competed for Matt's heart on the reality series, with her receiving the final rose in the end. Even though Matt wasn't ready to get down on one knee and propose to her, he still wanted to pursue a romantic relationship with her outside the show.
However, after just a few months of dating, The Bachelor's Matt broke it off with Rachael. The breakup ensued after a series of racially insensitive photos and Instagram likes came to light. Rachael was a frontrunner from the beginning of Matt's season, and viewers assumed the pair had gone their separate ways. During the After The Final Rose special, Matt confirmed he and Rachael were no longer together. He felt she needed the space to learn and grow from her mistakes with him at her side. However, the two couldn't stay away from each other for long as they were spotted out together in April at a few L.A. hotspots.
The TMZ cameras caught Matt with his arm wrapped around Rachael in New York City earlier this week. The 28-year-old and the 24-year-old were seen together on Tuesday walking side by side on Manhattan's Lower East Side as they walked into a building. Last week, Matt said he was "focusing" on his relationship with the graphic designer, hopeful in his pursuit. These photos clearly show just how much time and energy The Bachelor's Matt is willing to pour into the relationship. An onlooker also revealed to the publication that Matt and Rachael were even holding hands at one point.
Since the Bachelor couple was spotted out together after their on-screen break-up, Matt and Rachael have kept their secret romance under wraps. Whenever the two had been seen together, Matt always had a hoodie over his head with sunglasses or a large face mask on. When he and Rachael were together in Santa Monica in April, Matt was wearing a blue hoodie with sunglasses while Rachael enjoyed a glass of wine. Despite the fact that Rachael and Matt have been keeping a low profile, they are getting past her former race issues. However, Rachael made it clear during the AFR special that she was still madly in love with him and was willing to stick it out if he was willing to.
The proof is in the photos, and the photos say Matt and Rachael are officially an item again. Not only have they hung out on more than one occasion, but they have been spotted together in more than one state. Only time will tell if The Bachelor's Matt and Rachael ever decide to go Instagram official with their relationship.
