Is Matt James not all he's cracked up to be? Fans have taken to Reddit to discuss why they think Matt is actually kind of boring. They may think Matt is boring, but this season of The Bachelor has been anything but boring. There has been jealousy, bullying and even some erotic story telling. All of this combined has given fans quite the entertainment in just three episodes so far.
Season 25 of The Bachelor started just three short weeks ago. From the second these women stepped out of the limo, fans knew they were in for a ride. Victoria "Queen" Larson has been the source behind a majority of the drama amongst the ladies. While most of the other contestants as well as fans do not like Victoria, she has managed to get a rose every week thus far. Almost all of the ladies have had some type of date with Matt already. Three lucky ones were chosen for one-on-one dates, Bri Springs, Sarah Trott and Serena Pitt. Despite her strong connection with Matt, Sarah ultimately chose to leave the competition after she had a falling out with all of the girls due to her interrupting the recent group date.
Matt James is definitely starting to get a hang of being the Bachelor, but does that necessarily mean he is good at it? Fans on Reddit actually think that Matt is quite boring. Despite thinking he seems like a "nice guy," they are not impressed by this season so far. Matt seems to be a bit "bland," as he typically does not have much to say. During most of his one-on-one time with the ladies, Matt tends to let the contestants do most of the talking. While a lot of fans usually find the Bachelor to be a bit boring, Matt comes off as being not just boring but "awkward." One fan wrote that Matt is becoming so boring that it is "making his abs unattractive." Another speculated that Matt was "unpopular/nerdy" during his high school days and has since "glowed up physically."
This may not be Matt's fault though. It seems as though the ladies competing to win Matt's heart have quite large personalities which prevents Matt's true personality from being fully shown. One comment explained that the women's large personalities "make up most of the entertainment" on the show. Due to the drama so far this season, Matt has not even been seen that much during the episodes. It seems as though fans feel that this is why production should stick to choosing men to lead The Bachelor who have already been a part of the franchise in the past. They described it as a "screen test." Of course fans could not have a discussion about Matt James without calling him out for kissing with his eyes open.
Matt James may come off as boring on The Bachelor but he has quite the sense of humor when he is live-tweeting the episodes. Maybe Matt's reason for being "boring" is that he is still just getting used to the whole process. Hopefully he can soon open up more with the women, showing off his true personality.
