Being super-hot on Bachelor In Paradise might sound like a blessing, but for those who truly want to pair up for life, it can be a huge stumbling block. A scientific study discussed in Business Insider showed that “if you are hot, or just feel hot, you may be more likely to pursue other options if you're unhappy or just bored in a long-term relationship.” This statement explains why BIP participants’ heads turn so easily. The moment they find out small things about their partner like leaving towels lying around, or making noises when they eat, the contestants are immediately turned off.
BIP Contestants Are Picky When Choosing Partners
As Bachelor In Paradise viewers have seen over and over again, everything can be smooth sailing with their current partner, until someone else walks down the stairs who they find slightly more attractive. Often, they can’t help but jump ship. This can be especially difficult for BIP stars who struggle with commitment. For example, Romeo Alexander exhibited chronic indecisiveness on BIP season 8. As is the case with Logan Palmer, having endless choices can result in making no choice at all. On The Bachelorette, he couldn’t even choose between Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia before going to Paradise. Since being on BIP, Logan has dated Shanae Ankney, Sarah Hamrick, Kate Gallivan, and almost Lyndsey Windham (but Kate wouldn’t allow it). This is just one example of the inability to commit that has been occurring on “geometry beach” (a phrase Johnny DePhillipo made up for the multiple BIP love triangles, squares and pentagons occurring in Paradise).
Bachelor In Paradise Contestants Can't Handle Rejection
Another phenomenon often seen on Bachelor In Paradise is the difficulty with which stunningly attractive people handle rejection. The “10s” hardly ever get rejected, which means they have very little practice dealing with the pain and humiliation that comes with it. When the rare occasion of rejection does occur, standouts like Demi Burnett and Peter “Pizza Guy” Izzoo don’t know how to handle it. Whereas most people have learned over time that rejection is a part of life, those who haven’t learned that lesson tend to overreact, sometimes making utter fools of themselves on national TV.
There are reasons why being off-the-charts attractive can result in a lifetime of loneliness. Adding fame to the mix makes it even harder to settle on one mate. While certain Bachelor In Paradise cast members like Serene Russell and Brandon Jones have been able to find true love on the show, they are the exception rather than the rule.
