Bachelor In Paradise season 5 couple Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt got married in Florida on Oct. 28. Bachelor Nation first met Astrid when she appeared on Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor. Meanwhile, Kevin won The Bachelor Winter Games after winning the first season of The Bachelorette Canada. Although they were unlucky in love in their first experiences with the Bachelor franchise, they found each other in Paradise in 2018. Although they were inseparable on Bachelor in Paradise season 5 at first, they shocked everyone when they did not leave together and instead decided to part ways. However, they reconciled soon after, and, in 2019, they got engaged. They planned to marry in November 2020, but their wedding was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They welcomed their son, August William, on Nov. 20, 2021.

Now People reveals that Astrid and Kevin got married on Friday, Oct. 28 at the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Fla. For the wedding, Astrid said that they wanted to create "something that was timeless. We wanted to look back at pictures that would still look beautiful in 20 years. So we just kept it very updated and classy." The event space was near the water and had a big yard that was decorated with many string lights and flowers. Astrid and Kevin chose a "beautiful mix" of floral arrangements and candles that lined farm-style tables at the reception. A female musician played acoustic music at both the ceremony and cocktail hour. The ceremony was "unplugged," because, as Astrid explained, they wanted their guests to "be really present in the moment." The Bachelor in Paradise couple decided not to have a wedding party, but instead chose "special people" to carry out various responsibilities. Kevin's brother Justin gave the rings, while Astrid's sister Ingrid took the bouquet. Astrid and Kevin's son August was also at the altar wearing a State & Liberty tuxedo that matched his father's. Astrid wore a custom-made Gaila Lahav gown. She walked down the aisle to "Conversations in the Dark" by John Legend. Astrid's mother walked her down the aisle, and her stepfather officiated the ceremony. The couple exchanged vows that they wrote themselves.

Bachelor In Paradise's Astrid & Kevin Planned Their Perfect Wedding

Kevin Wendt and Astrid Loch on Bachelor In Paradise

At Astrid and Kevin's wedding reception, a DJ provided the music. Astrid's sister and Kevin's brother gave speeches, along with both of their parents. Their first dance was to "Tequila" by Dan + Shay. Astrid and Kevin chose the song as a nod to their tequila drinking days on Bachelor in Paradise. Guests were then treated to little shots of tequila. The food included a prime rib carving station, and typical "Florida food," including shrimp cocktail. There were also late-night snacks, including sliders and mac and cheese bites, and a candy station. There was a vanilla cake with a raspberry and white chocolate ganache, but Astrid explained that they opted not to do the cake-cutting tradition. She also said, "We're not doing the garter. We're not doing the bouquet throwing. We just want to hang out with our friends." Astrid and Kevin will honeymoon in The Bahamas and then move out of Toronto and into the Canadian suburbs. Astrid shared, "Getting married and having people from the show and everything there, it's nice to look back and reflect and think that such a small choice of us both choosing to do that show led to everything that it's led to."

Astrid and Kevin are another wonderful Bachelor Nation success story. The show not only leads to love and marriage, but also lasting friendships. Astrid and Kevin's guest list included Bachelor Nation stars Rachel Lindsay, Blake Horstmann, Alexis Waters, Kristina Schulman and Whitney Fransway, who joined the 100 loved ones who attended the wedding. The casts truly become families, and it is a beautiful thing to see.

Astrid and Kevin's decisions to join Bachelor in Paradise have led to a lifetime of love and happiness for the couple. With their son August, they are the perfect family. After years of postponing their wedding, they were finally able to have the ideal ceremony and reception for them. Fans wish them a lifetime of good health, happiness, and love.
