The latest The Bachelor trailer shows Heather Martin flying to Pennsylvania to try to capture Matt James' heart. Fans are curious about how she was able to crash the season. Rumor has it that her friend Hannah Brown helped her get there.

Heather Martin first appeared on Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor. Heather's storyline was that she had never been kissed. She had her first kiss on screen with Colton during their date. Later, however, she eliminated herself in a surprise move. Colton went on to choose Cassie Randolph as his winner, and they split last year. Heather remained good friends with Colton's fourth-place pick (and eventual Bachelorette) Hannah Brown. They two often post pictures on Instagram of them together, hanging at the beach. Hannah is friends with Matt James, whom she got to know while quarantining with Tyler Cameron last spring. Fans suspect that Hannah had something to do with setting up Matt and Heather.

Hannah probably had some influence over Heather's decision to join The Bachelor, but it sounds like the producers are mostly responsible. From what Matt has said about not knowing Heather before she crashed the show, Hannah likely told her she would be a good fit for Matt. Robert Mills, a programming exec on the show, said, "[Heather] felt for sure [Matt] was her husband and basically did anything she could to get there," on the Bachelor Recap podcast, according to Life & Style. Heather could have been stalking Matt's Instagram, but she surely would have turned to her bestie who knew him better to ask if she thought they would be a good match. While Heather could have contacted producers herself, they no doubt know Hannah better since she was on The Bachelorette. Hannah might have encouraged them to bring Heather on the show so she could shake things up for Matt.

Producers definitely played a big part in bringing Heather onto the show. Dylan Barbour's recent Twitter rant confirmed that they encouraged Heather to appear on Matt James' season of The Bachelor. He wrote, "The Bachelor producers screwed over Heather. She must be protected. Just know I'm ready to go to battle against them and these mean girls." Dylan is engaged to Hannah Godwin, another finalist on Colton Underwood's season, who no doubt has spoken to Heather about her experience on Matt James' season. The implication that producers knew Heather was going to be rejected by Matt is a pretty heavy accusation. However, it could be true if Dylan heard it from Heather.

Fans are divided as to whether it was a good idea for Heather to shoot her shot with Matt. Regardless of whether it was Hannah or the producers that put her up to it, some The Bachelor fans can't blame her for trying.
