What happened in the time between Peter Weber's engagement to Hannah Ann Sluss on The Bachelor finale and the After the Final Rose segment? Let's just say it wasn't a great time to be Peter.

It was a finale unlike any other, with Peter getting engaged to a woman he wasn't fully in love with to him asking for Madison's heart back to Peter's mother stealing the show with her open disdain for her son's decisions. Unlike past seasons, the outcome was unknown to even the most privy of spoilers. It made for a heavily-watched two-night coda to a slippery season, one in which Peter stumbled both literally and figuratively throughout. Peter flubbed almost every move. He got down on one knee when he shouldn't have. He got his family's hopes up about his engagement to Hannah Ann when he should have been open about his concerns. He reached out to Hannah Brown when he was still with Hannah Ann. He broke up with Hannah Ann without acknowledging his dishonesty until Hannah Ann pressured him to own up to it. He got back together with Madison when he wasn't ready for a relationship. And he didn't stand up for Madison when his mother Barb went after her on After the Final Rose.

On the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Hannah Ann filled in some holes that were unclear after the finale. She said that in the days after Peter proposed, she wanted to know more about why Madison left. He refused to be open about it, according to Hannah Ann, telling her, "This is the past." Everything wasn't in the past for Peter, however.

Hannah Ann said at the beginning of January, he told her he wanted to reach out to Hannah Brown to get closure. She was thrown off by this, especially since she hadn't yet seen Peter and Hannah Brown connect on the group date in the premiere. This was right before the season started airing and Hannah Ann wasn't on that group date. She realizes now that Peter was aware that Hannah Ann would see certain scenes on the show that would prove how dishonest Peter was following their engagement. She said on Bachelor Happy Hour"As the season started to roll, things weren't quite adding up." About a week after Peter mentioned to Hannah Ann he wanted to talk to Hannah Brown, he broke up with her.

Hannah Ann said she spoke to her biggest cheerleader Barb, Peter's mother, a few times after the breakup. But she figured it would be a good idea to distance herself from Peter and his family as much as possible, so that she can work on forgiving him for proposing to he
