When Colton Underwood was cast as The Bachelor in 2019, he met then 23-year-old Cassie Randolph who was competing for his heart. On the show, the two seemed to have a very strong relationship, and Cassie even made it to the hometown episodes where Colton got to meet her family. Despite the fact that their relationship seemed to be going well, that all seemed to change after Cassie's dad refused to give his blessing for Colton to propose at the end of the journey, something that weighed on Cassie's mind and was the main factor for her to quit the competition the week after hometowns.

Ultimately, Colton knew that Cassie was the one for him and decided to try to win her back, eliminating the remaining two contestants, Hannah Godwin and Tayshia Adams. After that, he had a long talk with Cassie and the two decided that they would leave together in a relationship, thus ending the season.
