Earlier today, reports that The Bachelor’s Cassie Randolph and Colton Underwood had been filming a reality show together broke. However, Cassie’s sister, Michelle Randolph, says this is just an unfounded rumor.

Colton Underwood was the star of season 23 of The Bachelor. He ended his season in an unusual way, telling Cassie Randolph that she was the one during fantasy suite week, two weeks before the finale. Although Cassie tried to walk away because she didn’t think she was ready for marriage, Colton won her back and they agreed to keep dating, but not get engaged. The couple broke up earlier this summer after nearly two years together. Although it seemed that the two were amiable at first, things have taken a sudden turn in the last week. It was reported that Cassie filed a restraining order against Colton earlier this week, after he allegedly put a tracking device in her car. He also showed up at Cassie’s apartment in the early hours of the morning, and was harassing her via text. Today, news broke that the two had been filming a reality show about life post breakup before the restraining order was filed.

Michelle Randolph, Cassie’s sister, refuted the claim that Colton and Cassie were filming a reality show on her Instagram, as reported by Cosmopolitan. She wrote in an Instagram story that the rumor was false and an attempt by Colton to distract from the restraining order. Michelle wrote, “This is such an obvious attempt to smear Cassie’s name to deflect from the seriousness of what was contained in the restraining order. And FOR THE RECORD I, nor my parents, have filmed or signed any contracts. My parents haven’t even spoken once to anyone involved in this potential show.” She went on to directly accuse Colton of starting the rumor, writing, “The claims of him dropping out are false. He, his ‘source,’ and everyone involved knows that is a lie.” Michelle references the original story about the reality show saying that Colton had dropped out of the show before the restraining order, calling it out as false.

Michelle also posted a screenshot of the US Weekly article about the reality show, labelling the parts that were untrue. She specifically pointed to a part of the article where a source claimed that Cassie was still trying to sell this reality show without Colton. “Cassie is still trying to sell her show. Her family is also in it,” the source is quoted saying. “When [Colton and Cassie] broke up, she tried to keep it just friends, but his feelings never went away for her. She did like the attention, so it was very hard for him.” Michelle refutes all these claims, clearly stating that Cassie’s family has no knowledge of this show. She also labelled the quote about Cassie liking the attention as false in her Instagram story.

Cassie has spoken before about how her breakup was made more difficult by people harassing her about it online. She took a long break from social media after the breakup hit the news, and was unhappy with her interview edit on The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons - Ever! Cassie seems to be distancing herself from The Bachelor, and especially from Colton, so claims of a reality show seem strange. Neither Colton or Cassie have made an official statement about the show yet, so we’ll have to see what they have to say.
