Stars of The Bachelor Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph seemed like the perfect couple, until their split in May. Colton announced the breakup on Instagram, saying that Cassie wasn’t ready for marriage. Just days ago, we got Cassie’s reaction to the break up.

Colton starred on the 23rd season of The Bachelor in 2019. The former tight end had come in fourth place on the previous season of The Bachelorette starring Becca Kufrin, and appeared on season 5 of Bachelor In Paradise where he failed to find love with Tia Booth. He was crowned Bachelor over very popular Bachelorette contestants Blake Hortsman and Jason Tartick. Jason is in a relationship with former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe, while Blake seems to have dated every woman in The Bachelor franchise and got his second shot at love on season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise. Colton and Cassie’s Bachelor journey was particularly dramatic because of their fantasy suite episode. It featured the now famous moment that Colton jumped a fence to get away from cameras, as well as an intense discussion between the two about being ready for an engagement. During their date, Cassie told Colton that she was very worried about having her father’s approval and being sure that she wanted to get married before going to the fantasy suite. As she tried to break up with him, Colton suddenly broke down and admitted that he was in love with her and that she would be his winner. Cassie was surprised and the night ended with Colton hopping the fence in frustration with the show. After Cassie’s father was brought in by production to smooth over the approval issues, Cassie accepted Colton’s final rose, but there was no proposal.

At the end of May, Colton and Cassie announced their break up via Instagram. Cassie’s brief caption revealed only that, “Neither one of us is quite ready to talk about it,” and that they, “will always have each others back.” Colton confirmed that the reason for the break up was that Cassie still was not ready for marriage, but details have been sparse. It appeared that the two both got post break up tattoos, from a post on Colton’s Instagram, and on Cassie’s sister Michelle’s Instagram, so it seems they are committed to remaining in each other’s lives. However, Cassie’s latest post on Instagram sends a passionate message to Bachelor Nation.

the bachelor Colton Cassie relationship

In her post on Wednesday, Cassie wrote an extensive caption under a photo of her posing on the beach. She explains that she cancelled all her contracts and quit social media for a full month to try and recover from the break up. Cassie begins the post by explaining what being “thrust into the spotlight” has meant in her life. She wrote, “I used to think a platform would give me a voice, but in many ways a platform takes your voice.” She continued to explain how she feels paralyzed by gossip, drama and mean messages. Of the break up, she writes, “I feel like saying: ok all you mother ffers hating on me for my breakup--please stop. It’s been an awful few months for ME trying to go thru it.” Her message to the haters is, “you know nothing so go away.” Cassie mentions that she felt selfish posting about her personal problems when America has been facing serious issues like police brutality and COVID-19, which partially led to her deciding to stay off social media. The time away from Instagram and other social media was “amazing” for her. She lists activities that she enjoyed in the time off including reading, sewing, playing guitar and dying her hair at home.

At the end of the expressive caption, she wrote, “Thx to the majority of u who’ve been kind & sent concerned messages. It means more than u know. Ily all (minus the trolls).” Her appreciative words for fans were certainly heard, and the harsh ones for trolls were as well. Her post was supported by many other Bachelor ladies, including Kelley Flanagan, Becca Tilley, and Hannah Godwin.
