Hot Toys has given the first look at the most detailed, life-like version of Baby Groot yet. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 brings back all of the same characters that helped make the original such a massive success. Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) became one of the new franchise's most beloved characters due to his good-natured charm - and, not to mention, his hilarious and heartfelt friendship with Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper).

Groot is back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but this time as Baby Groot. He needed time to grow back after sacrificing himself in the climactic moments of the first Guardians of the Galaxy, making the character as fresh as any in the sequel. Baby Groot has been featured heavily in the promotion for Vol. 2, and merchandise from Hot Toys is no exception. A new collectible Baby Groot toy is out, and it has the benefit of being a "life-size" version that is a must-have for fans of the character.

Hot Toys announced the new Baby Groot collectible toy on its official website, releasing a slew of new images. The "life-size" figure stands 26 centimeters (about 10.2 inches) tall. Hot Toys describes the figure as "one of the most adorable Hot Toys life-size figures you’ll ever see!"

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - Baby Groot

The life-size Baby Groot figure is highly detailed and posable, boasting 15 "points of articulation" for collectors who put it on display. The figure comes with a wearable Ravagers outfit. The figure also comes with three different interchangeable faces and two sets of interchangeable hands, including a pair of "extended attacking hands with embedded wires." Each of the three interchangeable faces were sculpted and hand-painted by designer Viva Lai.

Needless to say, the life-size Baby Groot figure is a must-have product for fans of the character and a hot item for Guardians of the Galaxy collectors. Demand for more Baby Groot toys could increase even more after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is unleashed in theaters. The character is reportedly better written in Vol. 2 - which is interesting, considering he only says "I am Groot" - and will battle baby dinosaurs in the sequel, so there will be no shortage of Baby Groot scenes to get fans more excited about collecting items like this.

It remains to be seen whether Baby Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will live up to the hype and match the standard set by Groot in the first Guardians of the Galaxy. The character is sure to get into some mischief in the sequel and have something of a "sibling rivalry" with Drax (Dave Bautista). Groot was a memorable character in the original and set the bar high for Baby Groot, but he has a good chance to reach it - and only make products like this life-size Hot Toys collectible even more popular.
