The opening scene to Edgar Wright's action comedy film, Baby Driver, has been released online. In a summer season inundated with sequels, reboots, and superhero movies, Wright's Baby Driver was something unique - a song-filled action movie that's also a dramatic heist flick - that moviegoers could use to escape. It struck a chord with audiences, and that's why it garnered Wright his biggest opening weekend ever, grossing over $21 million in its opening weekend and over $30 million during its five-day opening period.

It has been over two weeks since the film hit theaters in North America and most parts of Europe, and now Sony Pictures is starting to gradually roll out the film to the rest of the world - beginning with the other parts of Europe. In regards to the major markets, at this point, most of the people who were yearning to see the movie have seen it, meaning that the studio now wants to capture the attention of casual moviegoers, so that they can, hopefully, push the movie's box office gross past the $100 million mark.

In order to do that, Sony Pictures has been carrying out their traditional international marketing campaign, which now includes releasing the opening scene online. Sony Pictures Belgium posted the video on their official YouTube channel - you can watch the video in the section above. The scene begins with Baby (Ansel Elgort), Griff (Jon Bernthal), Buddy (Jon Hamm), and Darling (Eiza González) robbing the First Bank of Atlanta, and then making their quick escape, all while "Bellbottoms," by the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, plays in the background.

Although there are a lot of twists and turns throughout the movie, the opening scene does an exceptional job at painting a picture of what Wright's latest production is like - and it can very well convince people to see the movie in theaters. In fact, revealing the opening scene to movies is somewhat common when it comes to marketing. Christopher Nolan famously showcased the opening scenes for both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises ahead of certain IMAX showings prior to the movies releasing, and Luc Besson is doing the same thing with his latest film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. In this case, though, the scene has been released online.

The filmmaker had spent the last two decades working on his music-fueled non-musical film, off-and-on, and it only recently managed to come together - and it looks like it's a major success, so much that TriStar Pictures (a division of Sony Pictures) has already asked him to consider writing a sequel. Judging by the movie's ending, there's certainly room for a sequel, but if this was merely just a one-off, fans may be okay with that, too. For now, if you're a fan of Baby Driver, and you loved the film's opening scene, then you can watch it over and over again, at least until the movie hits home video later this year.
