Warning! Spoilers for A.X.E.: Judgment Day #1 by Marvel Comics

The Avengers, Eternals, and the X-Men's upcoming war is starting off with a bang, as a new preview features Earth's Mightiest Heroes getting the first punch in a fight against Sersi. In a new look at A.X.E.: Judgment Day #1 by Marvel Comics, Iron Man asks the former Avenger about the Eternals' upcoming attack. However, when he gets an answer he doesn't like, the superteam sends their most powerful hero at her, capturing Sersi ahead of the upcoming war between mutants and Eternals.

A.X.E.: Judgement Day from Marvel Comics will see the Eternals fighting to eliminate the X-Men while the Avengers get caught in the crosshairs. In the lead-up to the event, the Eternals discovered mutants were considered excess deviation, leading the new Prime Eternal, Druig, to shift their entire focus against wiping out the offshoot of Deviants they were designed to destroy. But, while Druig plans The Eternals' next move against the X-Men, including unleashing Thanos' uncle Uranos, the Avengers are striking first.

In a brand new preview for A.X.E.: Judgement Day #1 by Kieron Gillen, Valerio Schiti, Marte Gracia, and VC's Clayton Cowles from Marvel Comics, the fight begins following a meeting between Sersi of the Eternals and Iron Man. Tony Stark presses the former Avenger about why they will fight in just a few days. Sersi tries to play it coy, saying she'd rather fight the mutants and that "returning to life" is "our thing" concerning the X-Men's resurrection protocols. However, Stark realizes stopping Sersi won't be easy, as the Avengers counter with Echo, who quickly knocks out the powerful Eternal with her Phoenix powers.

AXE JUDGMENT DAY

Meanwhile, Cyclops and Jean Grey are in New York watching from The Treehouse, where Scott Summers admits it's weird seeing an Avenger harness the power of the Phoenix. However, Jean Grey is distracted by a rally outside, where humans protest the X-Men's resurrection protocol saying it's unfair that mutants wield such power. Meanwhile, on Krakoa, Destiny's precog powers reveal that the Eternals will be trying to kill all the mutants, sending the X-Men into action while warning others and preparing for the fight ahead.

The X-Men will have little time to prepare for the Eternals as they are about to unleash their greatest weapons against the mutants to wipe out the perceived excess deviation. Meanwhile, the Avengers seem to be on the side of the X-Men, as the Eternals being the aggressors in the fight (and Druig wanting to commit genocide) has Earth's Mightiest Heroes helping the mutant race battle extinction. Marvel's next war begins in  A.X.E.: Judgement Day #1 comes to comic book stores on Wednesday.
