The Avengers and X-Men's showcase of murderous super villains seems endless. But one of the most powerful super villains will lay waste to their ranks in minutes-and it's one nobody's heard of.

Over the years, the Avengers and X-Men have fought countless diabolical super villains including the X-Men villain Apocalypse as well as the mad-titan Thanos who can kill billions of people with the snap of his fingers. They have even fought one another, begging the question who would win in a fight? But in Dan Slott, Adam Kubert, John Dell, Justin Ponser, and Joe Caramagna's Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows Vol. 1 #1, the Avengers and X-Men will take on one of their greatest foes yet and when they die-this time their staying dead for good.

In the Amazing Spiderman: Renew Your Vows, after Peter Parker goes to the Daily Bugle and hands some pictures of Spider-Man to J. Jonah Jameson, he gets word that superheroes without superpowers are showing up dead while those with superpowers are missing in action. Which prompts him to go to the Avenger's Mansion where Captain America is hosting a meeting with the remaining members of the Avengers as well as a few other superheroes. While briefing the remaining superheroes on the situation, Cap says that before losing contact with Black Widow, they received new information on a lead regarding a man named Augustus Roman--the CEO of Empire Unlimited, a company that specializes and researches super-human abilities as well as bio-technologies. While discussing Roman, the remaining superheroes get a transmission from Hawkeye, Tigra, and Mockingbird who tell them they won't be able to help because they are trying to contain a prison break on Ryker's Island. Spider-Man realizes that Venom is probably hunting down him and his family, so he goes back to his apartment while the remaining superheroes hop on the Quinjet and go to the headquarters of Empire Unlimited.

When the remaining superheroes reach the headquarters of Empire Unlimited, they immediately get a taste of what Augustus Roman is capable of as he uses telepathy that's as strong as Professor X's to speak with them. Augustus Roman also takes a moment to yell his super villain name and says, "From now on you will call me Regent!" Regent also tells them to surrender their powers to him or die and the reason Regent can harness their powers is because of his body and technologically advanced suit. When the Hulk charges, punches Regent with all his might, and Regent grabs his hand, the remaining superheroes realize that he has killed all of the X-Men and has harnessed their abilities including Colossus's skin and Cyclops's eye beams. In a matter of seconds while Regent is holding the Hulk's hand, he teleports like Nightcrawler and rips off the Hulk's arm. The remaining superheroes are no match for Regent, and soon enough he has captured them all. With their superpowers, Regent will reign over the world.

Marvel's X-Men may be better than the Avengers, but their forces are still no match for a super villain like Regent. It's a miracle he doesn't get the chance to harness Captain Marvel's healing factor. Or else, the world may have been doomed forever.
