Inspired by the post-credits scene in 2012’s The Avengers, Funko releases a new Thor Pop figure completing the Victory Shawarma Marvel series. Chris Hemsworth has played the God of Thunder in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Phase 1. At the end of that first phase, the MCU’s master plan of interconnected storytelling was solidified as Thor assembled with the five other founding members of the Avengers. Long before The Avengers, Marvel had developed a proclivity for post and mid-credit scenes. However, the Avengers eating shawarma per Tony Stark’s request (Robert Downey Jr.) following the Battle of New York remains one of the franchise’s most iconic.

Funko is perhaps the best-selling vinyl figure manufacturers on the planet, working with the biggest studios to create detailed collectibles of fan-favorite characters and/or real-world human beings. Given Disney’s influence on popular culture, Funko works with Marvel Studios as much as any studio in the industry; new Funko Pops! hit the market following or in promotion of new projects. This has been true for every Disney+ series, Black WidowShang-Chi in the Legend of the Ten Rings, and cinematic entries of old.

Funko has been expanding its lineup of figures based on the MCU with the Victory Shawarma Marvel series, which pays homage to the post-credits scene from the original Avengers film. Joining Bruce Banner, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Captain America, and Black Widow, the final addition to these linked collectibles is the Thor Funko Pop. The Avengers Thor Victory Shawarma Pop figure is available for pre-order on Amazon for $19.99. Of the original Avengers, only Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), and Thor remain, and the latter’s arc doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon. Following the destruction of Asgard in Thor: Ragnarok and the ordeal with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Thor left Earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy. In addition to appearing in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, his story will continue in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder, which will see Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) inherit the mantle of the God of Thunder. Production on that film wrapped earlier this year and is set to release in theaters on May 6, 2022.

Phase 4 of the MCU is relatively focused on the development of its multiverse via projects like LokiWhat If…?Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It remains to be seen if the Sacred Timeline’s Thor will play a role in these multiversal events. That being said, Hemsworth does voice an alternate version of his character, dubbed “Party Thor,” in Marvel’s What If…? If there’s one guy who’d be up for some Shawarma ala The Avengers, it’s the latest take on the Asgardian Prince.
