Warning: minor spoilers ahead for Avengers Mech Strike #3!

Avengers Mech Strike is the Transformer/dinosaur war fans actually want. After two issues of mech madness, the Avengers have realized who their foe is, but they still don't know exactly what they're up against. Kang has unleashed much more than the world's mightiest heroes are ready for.

Dinosaurs and robots are nothing new to fans. Dinobots and Dinozords have proven to be super popular, spanning several seasons - and iterations - of Transformers and Power Rangers. Dinosaur mania doesn't stop there. Combining dinosaurs with sci-fi action is something that fans love, with blockbuster franchises like Jurassic Park, Triceratons in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and shows like Dino-Riders, Dinosaucers, DinoSquad, Dinosaur King, Primeval, and Dinotopia. Now, Marvel is going to be joining in with some dino-mayhem of its own.

Written by Jed McKay with art by Carlos Magno, Avengers Mech Strike #3 will expand the troubles the Avengers face. A new preview for the series reveals that Kang is starting up problems involving time. Time has been disrupted and a new era is in play. One where biomechanoids are not the only things taking up the Avengers' time and efforts. Check it out here:

The Mech Avengers are about to fight dinosaurs because obviously aliens just aren't enough. Previously, Spider-Man had been working on observing the transformation of a biomechanoid. Now, he finds himself running from a pack of dinosaurs. Chasing him is a large group consisting of a triceratops, a sauropod, pterosaurs, some velociraptors, and a couple of tyrannosaurs. If that wasn't enough, a Roman legion has also come to town, as well as some more alien foes, reminiscent of the Martians' fighting machines from H. G. Wells', The War of the Worlds. The next issue is definitely full of a lot of different elements that the Avengers will need to deal with, and already they're one man down in their fight.

The last issue featured the Avengers were seen being stretched thin with long downtimes being needed to repair their mechs after fighting Kang's biomechanoids. Since the Avengers couldn't manage those, it will be very interesting to see how the team tackles having even more threats thrown their way. Do they need to bring in more heroes? Is there even enough time left in the series for the Avengers to tackle these conflicts effectively? Well, considering the series' one-sentence summary is "a colossal threat requires a colossal solution," and the fact that this is a mini-series, the answer is most likely going to be... Avengers assemble.

With more and more problems to tackle, the only way out is going to be the way that fans are most likely hoping for: an Avengers super robot, the likes of Voltron or Megazord from the Power Rangers - it's got to happen. And, with such major threats from Kang and his alien technology, and now dinosaurs on top of that, it really does seem inevitable - and exciting. For now, the Avengers' path to victory is hindered by the kind of action that fans of Transformers and dinosaur action can get excited about.
