Last year, Marvel Comics published Avengers Mech Strikethis year the Avengers return in mech form against a dangerous set of foes. This summer, new mechs are coming in Marvel Mech Strike: Monster Hunters. Doctor Doom has found his own magical eye artifact: the Eye of the Kraken.

Avengers Mech Strike (2021) pit the titular team against Kang the Conqueror in a time-warped battle. Each Avenger received a new mech suit that channeled their powers in different ways, giving them an alternate way to tackle their foe. Now, a classic foe rises with his own team as a monstrous threat for Marvel's iconic heroes to take down - though they'll need some more mech suits to make it happen.

Throughout the year, Marvel will be releasing a slew of content and merchandise pertaining to Marvel Mech Strike: Monster Hunters. This includes a new comic this June, from the creative team of Christos Gage and Paco Diaz. There will also be a motion comic series, titled, "The Eye of Doom", on Marvel HQ. New costume, toy, and collectible lines will also be available, including new Lego sets, action figures, NERF guns, and Funko Pops. Marvel has released the limited comic series' first cover, as well as a synopsis for this upcoming Avengers series.

Written by Christos Gage and drawn by Paco Diaz, the new series will find the Avengers donning new mech armor to battle a trio of the world's most notorious super villains, led by Doctor Doom and monstrously transformed by the Eye of the Kraken. In order to defeat their foes, the Avengers must undergo a similar transformation - and become MONSTER HUNTERS! But will the heroes be consumed by their dark new powers? The series will feature classic Avengers characters and some surprising new additions to the team, all outfitted in their very own mech armor! More series details and art will be announced soon.

The cover features Hulk, Black Panther, Iron Man, and the Wasp though the synopsis doesn't allude to who Doctor Doom's additional villain allies will be. However, the merchandise previewed for this new season of Mech Strike could be providing a few potential answers. Funko Pops of Loki and Venom have been revealed, as well as an action figure of Thanos. Although Venom has been a hero lately, he does not appear with a mech in this collectible. This could be a superstar line-up of Marvel villains that the Avengers will be taking on. The synopsis also implies that the Avengers will be facing more than just these villains. Their new mech forms could take a dangerous toll on them and bring about the need to fight against themselves.

Notably, this series is including all-new suits from the ones featured in last year's Avengers Mech Strike. New clawed shoulders and spiked armor plates have been added to Iron Man's armor, which is incredibly different from his previous armor within the Mech Strike program. It is much more befitting of the monster theme being used this year. Additionally, the Wasp was not included last year, so Marvel is already showing a slightly new roster and it seems like Marvel has its share of monsters in its comics, such as Dracula, as well as a few monster hunters, like Blade and Elsa Bloodstone. However, it seems like the company's main heroes will now be getting in on the action. More news about Marvel Mech Strike: Monster Hunters will come in the future, but fans already have a lot to look forward to with this new Avengers adventure.
