Spoilers for Secret Invasion #2 by Marvel Comics

Maria Hill is dealing with a new Skrull takeover and, as a result, revealed she has specific contingency plans to take down the Avengers if needed. In Secret Invasion #2 by Marvel Comics, Hill and the C.I.A. confront Earth's Mightiest Heroes. When Iron Man scoffs at the idea of Hill and her agents taking down the likes of Captain America and Thor with just bullets, the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director reveals she has very specific weapons to help apprehend each Avenger.

When it comes to contingency plans, few heroes are as well-prepared to take down their allies as Batman is in the DC Universe. Batman has created specific plans for how to stop each member of the Justice League, which has created significant tension between The Dark Knight and his universe's greatest heroes. Now, Maria Hill is revealing that she has her own contingency plans in the Marvel Universe for the Avengers, albeit it's not nearly as detailed as Batman's - however, it remains incredibly effective as a threat.

Mariah Hill's Contingency Plans Are Designed To Take Down Each Avenger

Mariah Hill Contingency Plans Avengers Marvel

Maria Hill responds to Iron Man's callout by saying she has armor-piercing rounds to penetrate his suit. For Captain America, she has specific bullets that can pierce his skin. For Thor, she reveals she has powerful tranquilizers to keep him down, while she says she'd take down Doctor Strange with a taser. Mariah Hill tells the Avengers that while some heroes - like Captain Marvel and Squirrel Girl - require more of an honor system when seeking out the truth, "every hero has a countermeasure."

While Hill's contingency plans aren't as advanced and devastating as Batman's, as hers are more about taking down the Avengers when needed as opposed to completely taking them off the board, she is as well-equipped as she can be to stop the powerful heroes when needed. In this case, Mariah Hill stood up to the Avengers in order to find out the truth about the secret Skrull - who turned out to be Black Widow. Secret Invasion #2 by Marvel Comics is in comic book stores now.
