Elizabeth Olsen cheekily laughs while Thanos (Josh Brolin) mercilessly plucks the Mind Stone from Vision (Paul Bettany) in a newly-emerged Avengers: Infinity War behind-the-scenes image. Debuting Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Olsen has slowly become one of the most prominent female heroes in the MCU. The character has gone through a string of losses in the last several years with the latest and arguably most impactful one being the death of her lover at the hands of the Mad Titan in Avengers 3.

All of those who were disintegrated into dust following Thanos' deadly snap in Infinity War including Wanda was brought back to life thanks to the relentless efforts of the surviving MCU heroes in Avengers: Endgame. But characters who died physically at the hands of the Mad Titan remained dead, like Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Vision, making their deaths in Avengers 3 much worse. But apparently, while the latter's excruciating death was being filmed, Olsen was enjoying watching the whole thing.

Shared on directors Joe and Anthony Russo's official Twitter account is a brand new behind-the-scenes image from the set of Infinity War. The image captures the moment where Thanos lifts Vision by grabbing his throat - getting ready to get the Mind Stone embedded on his forehead. On the side, fans can see Olsen sitting casually on the platform where Brolin was standing on, laughing giddily while her on-screen lover gets murdered. The Russos cited this in their caption, writing "Lizzie has a twisted send of humor." Check out the amusing snap below:

The image gives fans a new perspective on arguably one of the most terrifying and heartbreaking scenes in Infinity War. In the film, Vision urged Wanda to destroy the Mind Stone on his head to ensure that the Mad Titan is unable to complete all six Infinity Stones and decimate half of life in the universe. This is after spending a majority of the film attempting to extract the elemental crystal from the android without effectively killing him. But with the lovers running out of time, they didn't have a choice but to go through the sacrificial route. This is also a testament to Olsen's acting prowess considering how brilliantly acted the moment that came before Thanos was able to get a hold of Vision.

It's curious what prompted the Russos to post this Avengers: Infinity War image at this point fully knowing that Vision was among the few who weren't resurrected by Hulk's snap in Endgame. Considering that he's confirmed to appear in his and Wanda's own Dinsey+ series titled WandaVisionwhich takes place after the Thanos debacle, deepens the mystery on how he can be brought back to life. Due to Vision's form make-up, there's a chance that he can be rebuilt, the question is whether or not he'll have his old memories, including the ones with Wanda. Fans would have to wait to find out once Marvel Studios reveals official details on what to expect on the upcoming MCU show as the project is due to start filming in fall.
