Avengers: Infinity War Teaser Trailer

After a long wait, the first Avengers: Infinity War teaser trailer released at the end of November 2017, giving fans their first real look at the 2018 blockbuster. Although it's quite slow and skimps on the action, it does show off most of the superheroes in the movie, including Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. It even teases the Guardians of the Galaxy's inclusion in the film via Thor.

Aside from bringing together all the superheroes, the teaser offered fans their first real look at Thanos in action, punching Iron Man with two Infinity Stones already embedded onto the Infinity Gauntlet. Plus, he gives a chilling speech about the Avengers finally knowing what it's like to lose... in time, of course. The video teases quite a bit, such as Loki's "betrayal" by handing over the Tesseract/Space Stone to Thanos and his Black Order, but it leaves a lot open to the imagination and even creates a whole set of new questions.

The first Avengers 3 teaser broke records when it originally released online last year, garnering the most views for a trailer recorded within its first 24 hours of release (including all social media platforms, not just YouTube): 230 million views. That number put the teaser past IT's record-breaking first teaser trailer, which garnered a whopping 197 million views in 2017.

Avengers: Infinity War Super Bowl Promo

Marvel Studios was expected to release the second trailer for Avengers: Infinity War during Super Bowl 52 in February, but that wasn't the case. Still, they did debut some new footage in the 30-second Super Bowl spot, starting off with a scene involving Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange. While most of the footage was already shown in the teaser trailer, there are bits that are continuations of previously revealed sequences, such as the one involving Bucky Barnes. But perhaps the most interesting reveal is Tony's new Bleeding Edge Iron Man suit.

Avengers: Infinity War Official Trailer

About two weeks after moving up Avengers: Infinity War's release date to April 27 in the United States, Marvel Studios released the official Avengers 3 trailer. The trailer raises the stakes against the Earth's mightiest heroes and teases some iconic comic book moments involving Thanos and his Black Order. The trailer contains mostly new footage, though some snippets were taken from sequences that were previously teased, such as the battle in Wakanda in the film's third act.

In the beginning, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), who was raised by Thanos, says that Thanos only ever had one goal: to wipe out half the universe with the snap of his fingers, something that alludes to the iconic moment from Infinity Gauntlet in which Thanos literally wipes out half of all life by snapping his fingers - though he needs all the Infinity Stones to do so. From then on, certain plot points become clear, such as Steve Rogers, Black Widow, Falcon, Hulk, War Machine, and Scarlet Witch heading to Wakanda to protect Vision from Thanos and his Black Order.

Of course, a moment fans have been waiting for is also teased: Star-Lord meeting Iron Man... with Spider-Man and everyone else watching Star-Lord's plan-making in total shock. While there's a lot more that's shown in the trailer, arguably the most important moment comes at the end when Thanos tries to crush Steve Rogers with the Gauntlet and Steve is attempting to stop him, using all of his strength to do so.
