Marvel Studios' marketing campaign for Avengers: Infinity War is now well underway, with several trailers, TV spots, and clips having already released. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo - based on a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely - Avengers: Infinity War unites the Earth's Mightiest Heroes with the Guardians of the Galaxy for an ultimate showdown with Thanos and his loyal Black Order.

Avengers: Infinity War adds to Marvel's busy 'Phase Three' superhero release schedule, and marks the beginning of the end of the first saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that started 10 years ago with Jon Favreau's Iron Man. Because of that, audiences are undoubtedly excited to see what the studio has in store for them. While quite a bit is already known about the film, there's still a lot that's being left up to the imagination - and all of the following promotional materials may help audiences in answering those questions... or simply getting pumped up for Infinity War's impending release.

Avengers: Infinity War Day One Announcement

Marvel Studios and the cast and crew of Avengers: Infinity War celebrated the first day of production on the highly-anticipated film by releasing a behind-the-scenes video from the set in February 2017. Although no actual footage from the movie was shown (since it had just started shooting), the video set the stage for what audiences could expect to see from Infinity War.

The video started out by showing footage of the Infinity Stones from past movies, specifically where the five known Stones have appeared previously (the Soul Stone is still missing), such as Loki's Sceptre from The Avengers. The footage was shown with a voiceover of The Collector's (Benicio del Toro) speech from James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, in which he explains the history of the Infinity Stones to the future Guardians.

Then, the video shifts to January 23, 2017 - the first day of filming on Infinity War - with Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, and Chris Pratt talking about their amazement of it all. After that, producer Kevin Feige, directors Anthony and Joe Russo, and writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely all discuss the lead-up to Infinity War and the culmination of the past 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios 10 Years Sweepstakes

To celebrate Marvel Studios' 10th anniversary and the upcoming release of Avengers: Infinity War, they put together a sweepstakes that would give 10 fans the "ultimate Marvel Studios experience." The prize includes a Captain Marvel set visit, a tour of Marvel Studios, and a ticket to the Avengers: Infinity War premiere. And to announce this sweepstakes, a handful of Marvel actors and actresses got together for the "10 Years Sweepstakes" video, which also comes with a handful of behind-the-scenes footage at Infinity War. It also shows the Infinity Gauntlet with four Infinity Stones on it, not just the two that appeared in the teaser trailer.

Avengers: Infinity War "Family" Featurette

One of the biggest connections Marvel Studios is trying to draw with the Marvel Cinematic Universe is that it's about family. The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy members are all like family to each other, and Avengers: Infinity War brings them together in what appears to be one big, extended family. That's the main topic at hand in Marvel Studios' "Family" featurette for Avengers 3, which emphasizes the new bonds built in this movie between characters and actors. Plus, there's a handful of new footage, including a scene in which Chris Pratt's Star-Lord jumps into one of Doctor Strange's portals.

Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Year Legacy Featurette

As previously mentioned, the MCU launched with Jon Favreau's Iron Man in 2008 - 10 years ago - and Marvel debuted a featurette ahead of Avengers: Infinity War that emphasizes the shared universe's journey as well as the small moments that laid the foundation for where they are today. Although there are plenty of interviews with the casts and crews of Marvel films in this video, the featurette ends with Nick Fury, Tony Stark, and Vision's quote from the Infinity War trailers in which they say: "There was an idea, to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if we could become something more." And what's interesting is that the video lingers on Brie Larson, who will be joining the MCU as Captain Marvel in 2019.

Avengers: Infinity War Teaser Trailer

After a long wait, the first Avengers: Infinity War teaser trailer released at the end of November 2017, giving fans their first real look at the 2018 blockbuster. Although it's quite slow and skimps on the action, it does show off most of the superheroes in the movie, including Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. It even teases the Guardians of the Galaxy's inclusion in the film via Thor.

Aside from bringing together all the superheroes, the teaser offered fans their first real look at Thanos in action, punching Iron Man with two Infinity Stones already embedded onto the Infinity Gauntlet. Plus, he gives a chilling speech about the Avengers finally knowing what it's like to lose... in time, of course. The video teases quite a bit, such as Loki's "betrayal" by handing over the Tesseract/Space Stone to Thanos and his Black Order, but it leaves a lot open to the imagination and even creates a whole set of new questions.

The first Avengers 3 teaser broke records when it originally released online last year, garnering the most views for a trailer recorded within its first 24 hours of release (including all social media platforms, not just YouTube): 230 million views. That number put the teaser past IT's record-breaking first teaser trailer, which garnered a whopping 197 million views in 2017.

Avengers: Infinity War Super Bowl Promo

Marvel Studios was expected to release the second trailer for Avengers: Infinity War during Super Bowl 52 in February, but that wasn't the case. Still, they did debut some new footage in the 30-second Super Bowl spot, starting off with a scene involving Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange. While most of the footage was already shown in the teaser trailer, there are bits that are continuations of previously revealed sequences, such as the one involving Bucky Barnes. But perhaps the most interesting reveal is Tony's new Bleeding Edge Iron Man suit.

Avengers: Infinity War Official Trailer

About two weeks after moving up Avengers: Infinity War's release date to April 27 in the United States, Marvel Studios released the official Avengers 3 trailer. The trailer raises the stakes against the Earth's mightiest heroes and teases some iconic comic book moments involving Thanos and his Black Order. The trailer contains mostly new footage, though some snippets were taken from sequences that were previously teased, such as the battle in Wakanda in the film's third act.

In the beginning, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), who was raised by Thanos, says that Thanos only ever had one goal: to wipe out half the universe with the snap of his fingers, something that alludes to the iconic moment from Infinity Gauntlet in which Thanos literally wipes out half of all life by snapping his fingers - though he needs all the Infinity Stones to do so. From then on, certain plot points become clear, such as Steve Rogers, Black Widow, Falcon, Hulk, War Machine, and Scarlet Witch heading to Wakanda to protect Vision from Thanos and his Black Order.

Of course, a moment fans have been waiting for is also teased: Star-Lord meeting Iron Man... with Spider-Man and everyone else watching Star-Lord's plan-making in total shock. While there's a lot more that's shown in the trailer, arguably the most important moment comes at the end when Thanos tries to crush Steve Rogers with the Gauntlet and Steve is attempting to stop him, using all of his strength to do so.

Avengers: Infinity War HaloWC 2018 TV Spot

The first Infinity War TV spot to air actually appeared online during the live stream for HaloWC 2018 Columbus Finals. It featured a few bits of new footage and dialogue, such as Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) saying that Thanos is coming, presumably telling Tony Stark, Doctor Strange, and Wong - of which the latter two initially discover Hulk inside the Sanctum Santorum, a twist on an iconic Infinity Gauntlet scene. Then, Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) is shown flying the Milano with a few other Guardians, telling them to put on their mean faces. While there's an additional shot of Hulk, the most important scene in the TV spot comes towards the end in which Tony officially ordains Spider-Man as an Avenger.

Avengers: Infinity War "All of Them" TV Spot

While the aforementioned HaloWC TV spot aired online, Marvel Studios released the first official TV spot for Infinity War on March 27 - one month prior to the film's release - titled "All of Them." It's one-minute long and mostly features the same footage from the teaser trailer and the official trailer, but there are some bits of new footage and dialogue riddled throughout.

There are brief new looks at Gamora and Scarlet Witch, as well as a sequence involving the Guardians of the Galaxy in which Peter Quill asks Groot to put his video game away. And instead of complying, Groot uses some offensive language... as teenagers do. However, perhaps the most interesting new bit of footage/dialogue comes from T'Challa, when he says, "Today, we don't fight for one life, we fight for all of them." There's also a small part when Spider-Man yells, "Yes!" It's a feeling that many fans can relate to, especially when watching these promos.

Avengers: Infinity War "Gone" TV Spot

This TV spot also aired during the HaloWC 2018 Columbus Finals, but it was officially released online a week later, titled "One Goal." Whereas the past themes were about the Earth's mightiest heroes and them potentially losing everything and everyone they love, this promo put the focus on Thanos and his goal to wipe out half the universe.

The promo starts off with several bits of footage that has all been previously released, but is then interjected by new footage of Vision telling Scarlet Witch that they are "out of time." They appear to be in Wakanda during this scene, thus potentially hinting at the Avengers and Wakanda's defeat at the hands of Thanos and his army. But what really drives this TV spot home is the vocalized version of the Avengers theme song that ends with a slowed-down piano rendition.

Avengers: Infinity War International TV Spot

One of the first international TV spots for Avengers: Infinity War put the focus on Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy, particularly their much-talked about meeting. In it, Thor requests the Guardians' help in defeating Thanos, which Rocket Raccoon initially declines. Then, in what seems to be dialogue pulled from another scene, Rocket says, "Just kidding. We're in." Most of the footage in the promo is old, but there are new snippets showing Steve Rogers activating his new Wakandan shield and Doctor Strange getting ready for a fight.

Avengers: Infinity War "Chant" TV Spot

While most TV spots include snippets of new footage, Marvel's "Chant" promo is essentially a one-minute-long trailer with tons of new footage and dialogue starting with Tony Stark's line about finding some help to deal with Thanos and his Black Order. Most of the promo effectively markets the film as Black Panther 2, but there's much more than a war to look forward to.

There's also a fun bit of banter between Okoye and T'Challa at the end. Understandably, Okoye imagined either hosting the Olympics or getting a Starbucks in Wakanda - not inviting an alien invasion - when T'Challa decided to open their nation's borders in Black Panther.

Perhaps the most important bit of new footage, though, comes at the 0:24 mark, in which Thanos appears to arrive in Wakanda with four(!) Infinity Stones already attached to the Infinity Gauntlet - the Space Stone, Power Stone, Reality Stone, and either the Mind Stone or Soul Stone.

Avengers: Infinity War "Snap" TV Spot

The second Infinity War trailer highlighted Thanos' goal to wipe out the Avengers and half the universe, and he could do just that with the snap of his fingers. It's an iconic moment in the Infinity Gauntlet comic, and it's something that seems to be continuously teased in Avengers 3. After all, in the above TV spot, Thanos tells the Avengers and the Guardians that he could snap his fingers and they would all cease to exist. Not only does it reference the comic book moment but also shows that the Earth's Mightiest Heroes' efforts are rather futile. Perhaps Thanos will cause his own undoing?

Avengers: Infinity War "Legacy" TV Spot

Marvel Studios once again emphasizes that Avengers: Infinity War is a culmination of storytelling from the past decade of the MCU with this TV spot. After starting with Thanos and his Black Order aboard what appears to be Thor's ship from Thor: Ragnarok, a montage of scenes - beginning with past films and then leading into Infinity War. While this promo doesn't show off a ton of new scenes, there are snippets of new footage sprinkled throughout, including one that Hawkeye fans might find interesting.

There have been plenty of domestic TV spots for Avengers 3, but most new footage and dialogue tends to come from the international promos. That rings true with the above international TV spot which brings together Doctor Strange, some of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and some of the Avengers. Then, when asked you they are, Spider-Man (of all people) says, "We're the Avengers!" But, of course, the Guardians haven't heard of them... until now.

Avengers: Infinity War - Thor/Guardians Clip

A few days after Marvel released the first TV spot for Avengers: Infinity War, the film's first clip surfaced online, showing Thor meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time. The clip starts off with the Guardians arriving at the destruction of Thor's ship that he and his people were using to get to Earth at the end of Thor: Ragnarok. Of course, as shown in the film's end-credits scene, Thanos and his Black Order arrive in the Sanctuary II and destroy the ship and everyone on board. After ogling over Thor's muscles, the Guardians step back as Thor jolts up and asks, "Who the hell are you guys?"

This sequence was originally teased at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 when Marvel Studios screened the first footage of the movie to Hall H panel attendees. While it doesn't provide anything new for fans who've been keeping up with the news, it's still interesting to see play out instead of only reading about it.

Avengers: Infinity War - Spider-Man/Ned Clip

Ever since the first teaser trailer released, viewers have known that Spider-Man springs into action from a school bus - but exactly how he manages to do that without drawing attention to himself was a big question. That has now been answered in the latest Infinity War clip. In this scene, Peter asks his best friend and "guy in the chair," Ned, to create a distraction for him, which he does so without any hesitation. Then, Peter puts on his web shooters and gets ready to fight some aliens.

Avengers: Infinity War - Shuri Saves Vision

ABC's Good Morning America revealed another clip from Avengers: Infinity War in which Shuri (Letitia Wright) saves the Vision (Paul Bettany). This particular scene has been teased multiple times in Infinity War's trailers, though not at the same time - and it's understandable why that is. The clip shows many Avengers working together in Wakanda to identify how they could possibly save Vision when Thanos comes knocking. Perhaps Shuri will upend Marvel's Science Bros in Infinity War.

Avengers: Infinity War - Avengers Vs. Black Order

Good Morning America continued their coverage of Avengers: Infinity War (allowing Disney to capitalize on that corporate synergy) by showing a brief clip of Black Widow, Steve Rogers, and Falcon fighting two members of Thanos' Black Order: Proxima Midnight (Carrie Coon) and Corvus Glaive, who's now believed to be played by Peter Dinklage. This particular has been teased multiple times ever since the first trailer released last year, but it's the first time that all the various bits have been shown together. What's interesting to many comic book fans, though, is how easy it seems the Avengers trio were able to take down the Children of Thanos.
