[UPDATE: The official Avengers: Infinity War teaser trailer is now online!]

-

Marvel Studios has confirmed that the Avengers: Infinity War trailer will arrive on Wednesday, November 29, by way of a trailer preview/fan appreciation video. The studio has been on the road to this moment for years and will have released eighteen Marvel Cinematic Universe movies by the time that everything comes together for Infinity War in 2018. The stage is set for this film to be the MCU's biggest event yet, and it’s almost time to get the trailer.

Fans around the world have been waiting for the trailer to arrive ever since Disney unveiled the first Infinity War footage to this year's D23 and San Diego Comic-Con attendees. Several people involved with the sequel have continued to tease that the trailer would be arriving soon, and Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo garnered more hype with a tease of their own. Now, finally, the trailer launch date has been made official.

After all this wait, Marvel is finally ready to give everyone a look at what Infinity War will bring on Wednesday. You can watch the video confirming the news, above!

For those who need the refresher, here is the official synopsis for Infinity War:

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.”

The announcement finally gives fans a date to look forward to, and it is thankfully not very far away anymore. There is no specific word on when exactly the trailer will launch, with several possible avenues for Disney to exploit. Regardless of when or how they debut the trailer, there is no question it will be an event in and of itself. Most fans are expecting the Infinity War teaser to largely focus on the footage that has previously been shown at conventions, but Marvel may yet surprise everyone and unveil some completely different footage instead.

The impending arrival of the Infinity War trailer aside, this is a unique and fun way for Marvel to make the announcement. Most trailer announcements are quick cuts of scenes from the upcoming trailer, but Marvel's decision to put the focus on the fans is great to see. The continued rise in popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe wouldn't be possible without the fans, so putting several lucky people in the announcement for Infinity War's trailer is a great gesture - and will surely generate even more reaction videos for their latest trailer launch.
