Thanos is bringing war, destruction, and fear in the new Avengers: Infinity War trailer, but he's also bringing memes. Not one to skimp out on perfect opportunities, the internet has turned the Mad Titan into a joke, taking screenshots from the new trailer and recycling them into meme fodder. Now, any casual fan of the Avengers is well aware by now that Thanos is a formidable force one is careful not to cross, but considering his fictional status... all is fair in memes and war.

As loyal to the comics as his design may be, it's not really much of a stretch to compare Thanos with some run-of-the-mill mortal you might see on something like Pawn Stars. Indeed, he really does look like a mirror copy of the show's host/pawn shop owner Rick Harrison (save for the purple skin and rippled chin). Maybe it's the wafting machismo or maybe it's just the bald head, but Thanos is a dead ringer for someone in whom the A&E Network would put total faith.
Salt Bae Thanos

Ever since the first Avengers movie, it's been clear Thanos' mission has been to acquire the Infinity Stones. This will grant him immense power, although in the trailer for Infinity War, Thanos is handling the stones as casually as the YouTube-famous "Salt Bae" would handle seasoning (which is to say, very casually). So, it's only natural that someone would craft a meme out of how Thanos dresses his gauntlet with said stones in the trailer. Even for someone of Thanos' stature, this meme would definitely put a smile on his face.

You can argue that Thanos is the universe's ultimate badass; a title unknowingly shares with one Stone Cold Steve Austin. The former WWE pro wrestler made a name for himself in the '90s, roughly around the same time Thanos was making a name for himself in Marvel's six-issue comic book series Infinity War. In terms of devastating blow potential, Thanos arguably has Austin beat, but in terms of physical likeness, the similarities are undeniable. Consider Thanos' look in Infinity War an unofficial love letter to WWE fans everywhere.

How do you make a villain menacing? Have them show up and slaughter innocents on a whim like Genghis Khan? Have them take the slow-burn approach like Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest? Or how about have them enter a room like they're about to start an epic rap battle? It's kind of hard to take the guy seriously once you've made the correlation between this entrance and that of anyone involved in an East Coast/West Coast rap battle, but it's fair to assume that at some point in Infinity War's roughly two-and-a-half-hour runtime, he'll more than likely take the Genghis Khan approach as well...

When Joss Whedon made his departure from the MCU, there was definitely some disappointment, although also acceptance after his torturous experience on Avengers: Age of Ultron; he and Marvel Studios just had differing approaches to where the franchise could go. Is that reason enough to make a turn toward villainy? Not necessarily, but that didn't stop the internet from transforming the former Marvel affiliate into Infinity War's very own purple baddie, Thanos (and honestly, the likeness is creepily on-point).

Mmmm... Infinity Stones. One of the most out-there and, as a result, hilarious memes is the turning of Thanos into Homer Simpson, on a conquest for Duff and donuts rather than gems. The question is - who's Frank Grimes?
