One of the most anticipated parts of Avengers: Infinity War is the chance to see all of our favorite heroes sharing a screen for the first time. Marvel has been building to this team up for the past 10 years, creating an intricate shared universe across 18 movies. The studio has a formula: they start with solo films for characters, giving them individual powers and challenges before bringing them together to face greater threats. The first major team-up was The Avengers in 2012, which was later followed by Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. Most recently our heroes were brought together not to fight an external threat, but each other in Captain America: Civil War.Civil War was the first tease of what it would be like to see some of these heroes teaming up. It brought Spider-Man back into the MCU, introduced Ant-Man to the rest of universe, and gave us a hilarious rivalry between Bucky and Falcon. Infinity War will take it one step further, uniting the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy to take down Thanos and his Black Order.Related: Infinity War Trailer Promises Thaons' Most Iconic MomentThe full length trailer for Avengers: Infinity War showed not only the size and scope of the film, but it also a little more of what to expect when it comes to character interactions. There are some pairings everyone is excited to see again like the Science Bros and a reconciliation between Iron Man and Captain America. But there are plenty of other more surprising combinations we also can't wait to watch.

Iron Man & Star Lord

Tony Stark is the leader of The Avengers. Peter Quill is the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Both men have big personalities, big egos, a fondness for sarcasm, and serious daddy issues. Actually, when you think about it they're pretty similar - except Tony is a "genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist," and Peter Quill likes to defeat bad guys with dance battles. In short, putting them together is bound to cause some tension.

One of the funnier moments of Infinity War trailer shows Iron Man and Star Lord fighting over who has the best plan. Both men are convinced their idea is the right one (of course). It does make you wonder: who is going to lead this team? There are plenty of options, almost too many in fact: Iron Man, Star Lord, Captain America, and Black Panther have all proven themselves in the past. There are a lot of egos that are going to be need to be pushed aside, starting with these two, if everyone wants to work together to defeat Thanos. The fun part will be watching everyone try.

Spider-Man & Doctor Strange

Peter Parker stole the show in Captain America: Civil War with his incessant mid-fight chatter and just-happy-to-be-here attitude. He's just a kid living out his dream of being a superhero and fighting alongside some of the best in the galaxy. Peter is also still relatively new to the whole superhero thing. His viewpoint is more grounded, he's only fought his fellow heroes and the Vulture's crew in Queens. With Thor and the Hulk sitting out Civil War, there are a few important people he hasn't met yet. So it looks like Peter is going to be in for a big surprise when he meets cosmic heroes like the Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange.

The Infinity War trailer shows Peter introducing himself to Stephen Strange and assuming that "Doctor Strange" is his made-up superhero name. Once Peter learns the truth, however, he is sure to be fascinated by Doctor Strange's astral projecting powers and ability to manipulate time. Both men have a fondness for science and tech that is sure to bond them with fellow science bros Tony Stark and Bruce Banner as well.

Thor & Groot (& Rocket)

We've been looking forward to seeing Thor team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy since the earliest footage of Infinity War that premiered during D23 last year. In the film Thor will be on a secret mission alongside Rocket and Groot to stop Thanos. Groot may even play a part in creating Thor's new weapon. In the trailer we get a glimpse of the God of Thunder at work while his new friends look on. They seem like the perfect combination of characters to go on a side quest together. Thor: Ragnarok proved the Guardians weren't the only funny ones in the galaxy. Between Groot's teenage sass, Rocket's characteristic sarcasm, and Thor's charm there are sure to be plenty of laughs.

Thanos & Gamora

As the daughter of Thanos, Gamora has perhaps the hardest challenge ahead of her in Infinity War. As a child she was captured by Thanos and trained as a warrior to do his bidding. She was pitted against her sister Nebula in brutal contests, creating a rivalry between the two women as they fought for their survival. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 explored this relationship and newfound healing as the characters tried to overcome the events of their past.

One of the most interesting parts of the Infinity War trailer is a flashback of what appears to be Gamora's childhood. Her small green hand is shown grasping Thanos' large purple one as he leads her away from her homeworld. Gamora has lost the most because of Thanos, and she knows better than anyone what is at stake. It will be interesting to see her face her father again, as well as explore how their past relationship affects the present. Gamora could also be an important key in how to defeat Thanos.

Bucky & Black Widow

During Civil War, Captain America's two BFFs were on opposite sides. Bucky fought alongside Cap, while Black Widow chose Tony (though she later had a change of heart). Now the two will be joining the same team in Infinity War. The characters have a lot of similarities outside of their loyalty to the Star Spangled Man: both are trained assassins with dark pasts they would rather forget who are working to turn their lives around. Bucky is getting some help from Shuri, but maybe Natasha can aid in his healing process as well. She is a good example of the kind of hero a person can become despite their terrible actions in the past. And comic book fans will surely be watching the interactions between the two closely, hoping for a sign of their romance. Natasha and Bruce's relationship could best be described as, "it's complicated" at the moment so anything is possible.

Peter Dinklage & Anyone

Peter Dinklage as Tyrion in Game of Thrones

Anyone who watches Game of Thrones will likely have fallen in love with Peter Dinklage's performance as Tyrion Lannister, which has earned him a Golden Globe and two Emmys. He elevates the level of the actors around him, and his verbal sparring abilities are unmatched. Now that we know Dinklage is officially in Infinity War thanks to the newly released poster, we basically can't wait to see him teamed up with just about anyone. While we still don't know which character he's playing - friend or foe - it will be great to see Dinklage going toe to toe with some of the characters in the MCU. Hopefully the character will be different enough so as to not confuse fans who remember him from the (non MCU) X-Men: Days of Future Past where he played Bolivar Trask.

Hawkeye & Ant-Man

When it comes to Infinity War's marketing, Hawkeye and Ant-Man seem to be the two forgotten Avengers. Sure, there may be a good reason Hawkeye haven't appeared in any posters or magazine covers for the film, but it hasn't stopped fans from asking about him. Since the events of Civil War Clint has gone into retirement and Scott has been placed under house arrest. They've both been laying pretty low. There's a good reason for that. Clint and Scott are the only Avengers who have families. The stakes are higher for these two guys, they have kids waiting at home for them. Here's hoping that when Infinity War comes around we will finally get to see these underappreciated Avengers in action as well as hear them swap parenting tips.
