Spider-Man and Doctor Strange seem to be teaming up in the latest pictures from the set of Avengers: Infinity War. This film - also known as Avengers 3 - will see Earth’s mightiest heroes teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and every other available entity to battle Josh Brolin’s mid titan, the big floating chair enthusiast known as Thanos.

Infinity War and its as-yet-untitled sequel have been shrouded in secrecy since day one. The cast wasn't even sent complete scripts, and the publicity interviews thus far have only garnered vague promises of something ‘intense’, focused on ‘important’ characters, with a ‘very funny’ edge, and a ‘casual’ outfit for Thanos. And that Comic-Con trailer won't be online for a while now.

With all that secrecy in mind, fans located near the production have resorted to taking sneaky snaps to share what they’ve witnessed. The latest ones come via Twitter, and they feature Spider-Man and Doctor Strange sharing a sidewalk in New York City, near Sheridan Square:

Admittedly, these images aren’t the highest resolution. And those look like models rather than the actual actors in the suits, unless that crewmember is strong enough to pick up a grown man with each of his arms. These artificial likenesses of the Marvel heroes are probably being used to get some visual reference points for CGI artists to build upon in post-production.

This is the second piece of candid photography that points towards a team up for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange. Previously, a shot of a monitor displayed a computer-generated Strange in flight and a similarly-CG Spidey turning to look at him. It seems fairly certain, at this point, that Infinity War will feature these two iconic characters sharing screen time and dialogue.

It seems safe to assume that Spidey and Strange will be involved in an NYC-set action scene at some point in the film. Perhaps these two - fresh from their first solo movies in the MCU - will be left at home to protect Earth while other heroes journey into space? That would chime nicely with a recent piece of news, which suggested that a fair chunk of Infinity War will take place on Earth.

Fans will have to make do with more blurry set photos and in-depth poster analysis until Marvel opts to release the Infinity War trailer. Apparently, the powers that be are waiting until the footage is ‘exactly right’ before unleashing it onto the Web.
