This article contains potential SPOILERS for Avengers: Infinity War.

The first teaser trailer for Anthony and Joe Russo's Avengers: Infinity War is finally out, and the promo provides audiences with a look at the small teams Marvel's superheroes will form in the upcoming team-up film. The highly-anticipated superhero movie culminates a decade of storytelling with characters and stories intersecting from all corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for an ultimate showdown between Earth's mightiest heroes and the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin), who's aided by his loyal Black Order.

A handful of clips from the film's first teaser as well as one clip from the movie itself leaked online this past weekend, and fans can now get a real look at what is considered the biggest comic book movie event in film history. Still, it's worth noting that while the teaser may be spoiler heavy in some aspects - Loki presenting the Tesseract to Thanos and the Black Order removing the Mind Stone from Vision - it leaves fans with perhaps more questions than they had before, of which one of them might be: Will the Avengers fight together in this movie, or remain separate for the most part?

The Avengers: Infinity War teaser seemingly confirmed what many people suspected early on, that the Avengers will essentially be broken up into smaller groups in this film (who knows for how long?), presumably to protect each Infinity Stone. One group consists of Doctor Strange, Wong, Bruce Banner (who's not Hulk-ing out just yet), and Tony Stark, with Peter Parker joining them later as Iron Spidey. It seems Marvel's resident sorcerers find Banner inside New York City's Sanctum Sanctorum, and they presumably call Stark for help in figuring out what happened (something to do with why Thor is with the Guardians?).

The MCU heroes in Avengers: Infinity War

The last audiences saw Thor and the Hulk was in Thor: Ragnarok - on a ship heading for Earth to establish an Asgardian colony and something happens that separates the ship's heroes. While Banner crash lands on Earth, Thor ends up crashing into the Milano, thus coming into contact with the Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time (which was first revealed in the Infinity War footage screened at D23 Expo and SDCC in July). The third group present in the teaser is Captain America and his Nomad group, consisting of Black Widow, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Okoye, Falcon, and maybe Vision and Scarlet Witch, with others joining them at a later point during the Wakandan battle.

Avengers: Infinity War's teaser falls in-line with the film's first poster/banner that released this past summer at SDCC 2017, in which Earth's mightiest heroes were split into different teams with Thanos in the center wielding the all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet. Although three sub-teams were present in the first promo, there were still some characters missing, so it's possible that a fourth team may be in store down the line.
