Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo share new behind the scenes videos in honor of the Marvel movie's third anniversary. Back in 2018, Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest MCU movie yet, as it was the event the entire franchise had been building up to since its inception ten years before. The superhero epic brought together nearly all of the MCU's biggest heroes (save for some notable exceptions) as they united in an attempt to stop Thanos (Josh Brolin) from collecting all 6 Infinity Stones. This meant the Guardians of the Galaxy were finally interacting with the Avengers, something fans had long waited to see.

As has been well documented by now, Avengers: Infinity War took a shocking turn and actually had the heroes lose. This meant the final moments of the movie saw some of the most beloved characters, from Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) to Spider-Man (Tom Holland) disappear in a cloud of dust due to Thanos' snap. Avengers: Infinity War was considered a rousing success by fans, and it laid the groundwork for Avengers: Endgame to properly draw the Infinity Saga to a close the following year.

April 27 marks the three-year anniversary of Avengers: Infinity War, and the Russos have chosen to commemorate the occasion by sharing new behind the scenes looks on social media. Three videos (along with one silly picture of Joe) were posted online, including a sweet one of the cast and crew singing "Happy Birthday" to Holland on the day of his death scene. Additionally, there are peeks at a demolished New York street and actors like Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Jr. performing in a scene. Check them out down below.

Amusingly, just yesterday was the two-year anniversary of Avengers: Endgame. The Russos acknowledged that day as well, and so did stars Downey and Mark Ruffalo. Infinity War and Endgame acted as a two-parter comic book fans could only dream of once upon a time, and it says a lot about their impact that many are quick to celebrate their release years later. Granted, it's only been a handful of years for both, but it's probably safe to say they will still be remembered well into the future.

Avengers: Infinity War was the beginning of the end for the MCU's first major storyline, and it remains to be seen which massive event the franchise could build to next. Many suspected Secret Invasion would be the lucky winner, but as that is being made into a Disney+ series with Samuel L. Jackson, it's unclear if it will expand into the movies. The MCU is at an interesting stage right now, and fans are just as eager to see what's next as they were when Avengers: Infinity War lit up the big screen three years ago.
