Ever since their introductions in Avengers: Age of Ultron, fans have been waiting for Vision and Scarlet Witch to follow their romantic comic story, and it now looks like that will happen in Avengers: Infinity War. This relationship was teased at the end of Age of Ultron with Vision swooping in to save Wanda from the destruction of Sokovia. A small, quick glance is all it took to tease fans that this relationship could progress in future movies, and it played a pivotal role in Captain America: Civil War as well.
Now that they are both set to appear once again in the next two Avengers movies, fans have been wondering if this will finally be the movie that sees the characters' relationship become more romantic. Well, by the looks of the latest set photos, that will be the case, in some fashion.
E! Online has revealed a few new photos from set that show Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany together. In the scene said to film eight or nine times, the two share their first kiss, but there's a twist. While Olsen is seen in regular human attire, Bettany is noticeably lacking his typical android look.
Bettany's lack of a costume could actually be rather revealing. Could Vision have found a way to make a new, more human looking body? Have Vision's powers grown to changing his outward appearance? Has Scarlet Witch created a new reality where her love of Vision can be realized, and he feel the same way? Or, is this a dream sequence showing one or both of them what they truly desire? The answer to these questions can not be be found at this time, but is another layer to the story Infinity War appears to have.
Both Scarlet Witch and Vision have previously been seen fighting the Black Order in set videos, so their paths will cross at least once more. How exactly Vision goes from retaining his traditional, red, green, and yellow android body to this new look remains to be seen, but the set photos do confirm that fans of their comic romance will see a version of that on the big screen. How the movie progresses to get from their previous showings to here is a mystery that will more than likely remain up until release. As production moves forward, what both characters are seen doing will be something to keep an eye on to help determine the factors that led to this first kiss.
