Peter Dinklage is officially part of the cast for Avengers: Infinity War. Marvel Studios is kicking the hype for Infinity War into high gear. They've been rolling out new details since the start of EW's coverage last week, and have recently allowed set visit reports to go live too. All of this was building to the release of the film's brand new trailer, which coincided with tickets being put on sale. That wasn't the final announcement either, as a new poster was released.

The poster sells Infinity War on the star power of the film's insane cast. With characters from all across the Marvel Cinematic Universe coming together, the poster will draw in fans from all different corners. As always, the poster included a cast list for Infinity War, which just confirmed that Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is involved.

Initial reports of Dinklage's possible involvement surfaced last year, but Marvel surprisingly never confirmed the casting. We never got a leaked look at him during filming, despite him being spotted at an airport with orange hair. Fans have been theorizing who he could be playing ever since, or even just wondering if he is indeed in the movie. Thankfully, Marvel's just confirmed that Dinklage will be part of the film, but who he is playing remains a mystery.

Peter Dinklage as Tyrion in Game of Thrones

Since we've yet to see Dinklage in any of the marketing and they've only just confirmed he'll appear, whatever role he does play likely won't be major. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are going to keep the focus on the established heroes for Infinity War, so while it'll certainly introduce new characters, it isn't expected that they'll be involved in the final battle.

When it does come to narrowing down Dinklage's role, his name being featured on the poster could eliminate a few options. Considering his name is the only new addition to the MCU on the poster and he's not grouped with Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper for voice work, Dinklage probably isn't playing any members of the Black Order. Dinklage does have a great voice and could do those parts justice, but Kevin Feige's teased they won't reveal those voices. Many have theorized he could play Eitri, the King of the Dwarves, and help Thor forge his new weapon. Others have hoped he is actually playing MODOK. There's also been hope that he's Adam Warlock's pal Pip the Troll. Any could work or Marvel could go in a different direction. Whatever the case may be, we'll find out for sure next month.
