Avengers: Infinity War is outselling the last seven MCU movies when it comes to presales, Black Panther included. Marvel Studios is putting the finishing touches on their most ambitious film yet. As Phase 3 winds down, Infinity War and Avengers 4 will bring nearly every single character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe together in order to combat their biggest threat yet: Thanos. Everything about this movie suggests it will be huge in every way, and Infinity War has yet to disappoint in that regard.

Infinity War's projected box office opening domestically is more than $200 million, and Marvel Studios no doubt has their eyes set on the worldwide opening record too, judging by the film's same day release across the globe. Tickets for the movie went on sale back when the second Infinity War trailer dropped online, and it only took Infinity War six hours to break Black Panther's 24 hour presales record.

In the weeks since, Infinity War has not lost a step. THR shared new details on Infinity War's record breaking presales, revealing that it has now sold twice the number of pre-release tickets that Black Panther did. The even more staggering part is that Infinity War has now sold more tickets than the last seven MCU movies combined.

Considering Black Panther opened to $202M, the fact that Infinity War is doubling its pre-ticket sales is insane. These presales do not mean that Infinity War will open north of $400M domestically, but it certainly shows the anticipation for Infinity War is through the roof. It could very well be a sign that the initial tracking numbers were still low, and that projections of a $215M + opening are more accurate. With Marvel's onslaught of TV spots still coming, there are only going to be more tickets for Infinity War sold in advance from here.

Staying ahead of Black Panther is impressive on its own, but it's wild that Infinity War has sold more in presales than the last seven MCU movies. Their last seven movies are Black PantherThor: RagnarokSpider-Man: HomecomingGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2Doctor StrangeCaptain America: Civil War, and Ant-Man. Those seven movies grossed over $900M in their opening weekends combined. Again, Infinity War isn't going to outperform all of them combined opening weekend, but it'll certainly be big.

Really, maybe it shouldn't be surprising that Infinity War is outselling all of those movies combined, because that's what it was designed to do. Fans of Black Panther surely got tickets for Infinity War, as did fans of Spider-Man, the Guardians, Doctor Strange, and so on. There is a section of viewers who have seen all of these movies, but there are also some who only follow a particular franchise or characters. So, the fact that Infinity War is bringing all of these characters together also means its combining fans. While there's still much of Infinity War that remains a secret, it is all but certain Avengers: Infinity War will be a massive box office hit.
