Potential concept art for the Hulkbuster armor in Avengers: Infinity War has made its way online. The suit makes an appearance in the Infinity War teaser trailer and could prove to be tremendously useful, as Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy take on Thanos and his Black Order in the film.

The Hulkbuster armor's appearance in the Infinity War trailer has inspired a fan theory that Tony Stark won't be the one who wears the suit in the actual movie. In fact, some fans are convinced that the trailer shows the Hulkbuster suit being worn by Bruce Banner himself. It's an intriguing theory, and it points to a major issue with Iron Man; you actually have no way of knowing who's wearing the armor at any given time. Unfortunately, the newly leaked (but unconfirmed) Hulkbuster concept art for the film doesn't shed any light on this matter.

Said Hulkbuster concept artwork was posted online through Reddit, and it's arguably an improvement on Avengers: Age of Ultron's version of the armor. Traditional Hulkbuster designs are harsh and angular, emphasizing the unit's strength and power. However, this new design is a blend of that approach and the new, sleek Iron Man armor that Tony has in Infinity War. You can check out the artwork in the tweet embedded below:

It's actually possible that this isn't a Hulkbuster unit shown here. Tony's new armor appears to be based on the Prime Armor from the comics. That armor was composed of bleeding-edge nanotechnology, and Stark could manipulate it at will. He could reshape the armor into any weapon, and even transition between previous armors. That included the Hulkbuster, with Iron Man transitioning into a Hulkbuster mode with ease.

Last year, concept art leaked on the Internet showing Iron Man's Prime Armor. That has since proven to be an accurate representation of the armor that Stark will wear in Infinity War. Significantly, the Hulkbuster leak follows exactly the same format as last year's concept art and, for that reason, may well prove to be the real thing. At the same time, fans should be wary; there are clearly two subtly different designs here. Marvel may well have commissioned other designs too, and may have gone with a different version for the finished product.

As for who's actually piloting the new Hulkbuster armor? It seems everyone will have to wait and watch Avengers: Infinity War in theaters to find out the answer.
