Hot Toys has released images from their Avengers: Infinity War range, giving fans their best look at the film's heroes and weapons to date.

While all eyes are on the box office figures, in reality most superhero films make their money through merchandise. Avengers: Infinity War is sure to be one of the most effective Marvel films to date, with several of the key Avengers - including Iron Man, Black Widow, Spider-Man, and Steve Rogers - sporting distinctive new looks. Hasbro has already revealed details of their Marvel Legends range, which are hitting shops over this weekend, but now it's Hot Toys's turn.

Two new models are now available on the Sideshow Collectibles site. The Hot Toys 1/6th scale collectibles are always popular with the fans. As always, the models are incredibly detailed; that means the images are actually fans' best looks to date at the Infinity War suits for Thor and Iron Man.

The Iron Man figure comes with even more accessories than usual, and that's pushed the price up to $407. As fans had already surmised, the armor is clearly supposed to be nanotech; it reforms into different weapons in response to Stark's thoughts. The design is lifted straight from the comics, and was created back in 2015 by Brian Bendis and David Marquez. It's essentially the "Swiss Army Knife" of Iron Man armors, and Stark could even morph between previous armor designs. That even included morphing into the Hulkbuster. As always, the Hot Toys Iron Man model is primarily composed of diecast metal, with a remarkable facial likeness for Robert Downey Jr.

In addition to revealing their latest Iron Man collectible, Hot Toys has also unveiled their new Thor model. To date, Thor merchandise for Infinity War has been a strangely mixed bag; some action figures have eye-patches, and some don't. Hot Toys's model does, but it also has LED energy effects that can simulate Thor's lightning powers. It retails a far lower price than the latest Iron Man model, at $267.

Fans will be particularly excited to get their best look yet at Thor's new weapon, Stormbreaker. In the comics, Stormbreaker is traditionally associated with Beta Ray Bill. Many fans believe Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy will work together on the mission to acquire Stormbreaker. That seems to be confirmed by Hot Toys's images, which show Thor alongside Rocket Raccoon and Teen Groot. The Teen Groot collectible is getting a positive reaction, but fans are slightly disgruntled by the Rocket model. It seems identical to Hot Toys's previous Rocket collectible, with the only difference being a change in weapons.

It's certainly exciting to see these new designs for Iron Man and Thor. These are only the first two new Hot Toys collectibles to be announced, and the rest will likely give fans an in-depth look at some of the other Infinity War designs.
