Marvel Studios ushered in a new era for superhero movies in 2012 with The Avengers showing what the cinematic universe model could accomplish. Since then, the MCU has grown with brand new franchises beginning and others continuing into their second and third sequels. Now, the studio is in the middle of filming not one, but two new Avengers movies as Avengers: Infinity War and Untitled Avengers are currently in production across the world.

While the shoot has currently taken some of Earth's mightiest heroes -- like Vision and Black Widow -- to Edinburgh, a number of cast members have also visited Pinewood Studios in Atlanta to begin production. However, as filming continues, the cast and crew will travel to a number of different locations, including one that could allow for a Battle of New York 2.0.

Movie Casting Call (via Omega Underground) sent out a new casting call for extras needed in New York , where filming will move to on May 19. The call is for anybody between the ages of 18 and 50, so there is not much else to glean from this call besides the fact that the most prominent city in the MCU will appear again.

This should not come as a surprise with the likes of Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange all reside in this city -- as well as those street-level heroes from Netflix -- so a return to Avengers Tower or Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum could both be possible locations in the films. That said, it is unclear which heroes will be part of whatever scenes are shot here, but there is a chance that many of them will be involved.

After all, this is the city that first brought the Avengers together. This time, though, instead of stopping the Chitauri and Loki, their fight will likely see them going toe to toe with Thanos and possibly even the Black Order. This will likely be a drastically different fight considering the power levels of the villains. That said, it would be somewhat poetic for some if not all of the original Avengers to return to New York one more time for the biggest battle of their life.

Then again, scenes set in New York may comprise a relatively small portion of the films, let alone the climactic battle. In any case, there are many possibilities for what could take place in New York and the reveal that the next two Avengers movies will partially take place there is hardly a surprise.
