Avengers: Infinity War cast found out about the film's ending while they're all crammed in a van. Marking the culmination of everything that has transpired in the MCU since 2008's Iron Man, everything that the film did sets the stage up for what would be Earth's Mightiest Heroes ultimate showdown with Mad Titan Thanos in Avengers 4. Sadly, the number of heroes banding together against the intergalactic villain has significantly decreased following Thanos' snap with the Infinity Gauntlet.

It's no secret that directors Joe and Anthony Russo went far and beyond to make sure that Infinity War's final twist wasn't going to be inadvertently leaked. Between personally reaching out to fans to not spoil the film for others and not giving actors full scripts, all their efforts had been worth it as they successfully pulled off possibly one of the most shocking twists in MCU history. Now, new information with regard to the secrecy has come to light, but this time, it's about how the cast found out the shocking ending.

Appearing at Ace Comic-Con in Seattle this weekend (via ComicBook), Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany talked about how the cast of Infinity War learned about the movie's devastating end. As expected, it was the Russos who told them, but not until after they all filmed their respective death scenes. And instead of sitting all of them down in a conference room, they were all crammed in a van - an intriguing visual considering how big the cast of the film was. Olsen said:

"I found out from the Russos exactly what was going to happen and it wasn’t until we shot it on that day we learned what the ending was.  They took us into a van – all of us – we were in a van with air conditioning because it was very hot and they told us how the movie was going to end and no one knew. And they were like ‘Now we’re shooting it, Go!’ and we were like ‘How are we supposed to interpret that?’"

Olsen was actually the first Infinity War actor who openly spoke about the cast not being given complete scripts throughout the filming process. And she gave more insight on how that worked considering that actors usually take their own script copies wherever they are to memorize their lines. She also added that now that the movie has been out for almost two months, she's that they can talk about all these things out in the open.

"If you wanted to read the full script, for the majority of us, you had to go in a room with no windows, leave your phone at the door, and sit and read it fully. We couldn’t take our time at home or anything like that – they wouldn’t give us a hard copy. I just got my pages and even my pages had a fake ending and multiple fake things in it."

With how sudden deaths came for some of the heroes due to Thanos' deadly snap, it's entirely possible that the actors weren't really aware what was happening until after the Russos explained it to them. Tom Holland has actually revealed that, while he improvised his heartbreaking death scene, he really didn't know what was going on the whole time. If Marvel Studios had been this tight on their security regarding Avengers: Infinity War, fans can only imagine how they're doubling down on security for Avengers 4.
