The first Avengers: Infinity War social media reactions are now online. The upcoming superhero team-up movie is one of the most anticipated films of all-time, and it's expected to rival some of the top spots at the domestic and worldwide box offices - and for good reason. Avengers 3 brings together virtually every major character from all 18 movies that have released thus far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There has never been a movie this big before with so many interconnecting characters and storylines.

Directed by Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War helmers Anthony and Joe Russo - and based on a script from Civil War scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely - Avengers: Infinity War unites the Earth's Mightiest Heroes for potentially the last time as they attempt to prevent Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his Black Order from collecting all six Infinity Stones and implementing them into the Infinity Gauntlet, thus giving Thanos control over the entire universe (and everything in it). While the movie's basic premise has been known for quite some time, the filmmakers and the studio have been so secretive about the project that they've refused to even show it to anyone - that is, until now.

Avengers: Infinity War officially screened for the first time tonight - in Los Angeles (at the film's premiere) and New York City - for the cast, crew, and film critics, as well as select attendees. And now, the first batch of social media reactions have flooded online. Take a look:

Again, Avengers: Infinity War is one of the most anticipated movies of all-time, and judging by these early reactions, it seems like it delivers on the hype... to an extent. Granted, there appears to be some moments that could've been done differently. For instance, one reporter says that there could've been more levity somewhere along the lines, given that there's pretty much non-stop action throughout the film. Moreover, it appears that Infinity War may actually be more like part one of a two-part story than the filmmakers led fans to believe.

As audiences may recall, Marvel Studios initially announced Avengers: Infinity War as a two-part film - Part 1 releasing in 2018 and Part 2 releasing in 2019 - but plans got changed along the way, but it seems that not everyone got the memo. Apparently, Infinity War appears to be Part 1 (or, as some are saying, half of Infinity War Part 1). While there are lots of great moments and a ton of action and humor, Avengers: Infinity War could end up dividing audiences, especially those who are hoping for a more comic accurate adaptation of the Infinity Gauntlet comic.
