A new video from the Atlanta set of Avengers: Infinity War shows Doctor Strange fighting for his life. The stars of the MCU have a busy year ahead of them. While a number are shooting solo movies, everyone has had to hop around the globe to shoot Infinity War for next year. And even though production on the epic team-up film is almost complete, filming for Avengers 4 is right around the corner. Even then, actors like the stars of Ant-Man & the Wasp will essentially be filming two movies at the same time.
In the meantime, the streets of Atlanta have been experiencing a bit of chaos. Moving out of the studio, the past week has seen a number of action sequences being filmed in the downtown area of the Georgia city. After Robert Downey, Jr. teased his satellite team of Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, and Benedict Wong with a group photo, set photos revealed why they were all together. Disguised as NYC, the Atlanta downtown area has been transformed into a war zone with Iron Man, Wong, Doctor Strange, and Bruce Banner all in attendance. Now, we have a look at some of the action surrounding the heroes.
A YouTube user has uploaded some videos from the set and they look to capture the same scene as the earlier set photos. The beginning shows Doctor Strange attempting to roll away from danger before being captured by some unseen force. It almost appears as if he's bound by some sort of magic or telekinesis, with his arms thrust to his side and his torso twisted.
The next part of the video shows Doctor Strange back in his cape and walking alongside his crew again. All around them are even more signs of destruction, from debris to fires. The final bit of the video shows Strange and a motion-capture-clad figure. It's hard to make out, but it looks like it could be RDJ with the mo-cap dots being used for his suit.
We've already seen a glimpse of Iron Man's new armor on a stand-in, so likely it will be added to the actual actor in post. There's also another figure or some sort of drone in the shot ahead of RDJ, though it's difficult to make out.
With production wrapping soon, this scene may be the last bit of the film we get a look at. It could also be the last stand for one of our heroes. We know not everyone will make it out alive, and it seems that whatever can cause this level of damage and cow Doctor Strange is something powerful enough to kill an Avenger.
With Comic-Con around the corner and Avengers 4 shooting soon, we'll likely learn more about Avengers: Infinity War as the release date approaches and marketing begins.
