Avengers: Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo are also wondering where the Soul Stone is. The official Infinity War trailer has brought with it a slew of new footage (much to the delight of the fans), but avoids revealing where the final Infinity Stone is. The MacGuffins of the MCU for the last ten years, these gems are all that the Mad Titan Thanos needs to execute his universe-altering plans - and it's up to Earth's Mightiest Heroes and their newfound allies to make sure that he doesn't get his hands on them.

Featuring more than 70 characters, Infinity War marks the beginning of the end of everything that has transpired in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2008's Iron Man, before Phase 3 of the MCU comes to a close in 2019's Avengers 4. Both films are expected to connect one way or another to all the other films that have come before it - though the Russos recently revealed that Peyton Reed's Ant-Man and The Wasp will be the MCU movie that features the most direct connections to Infinity War.

Now that the second (and final) trailer has been released and Infinity War tickets are on sale, the Russo Brothers have taken to their official Twitter account to ask the same question that's on everyone else's mind: where, exactly, is that last Infinity Stone anyway? The magical gem has yet to appear in the MCU and with the Infinity Stones being pivotal to Infinity War, the Russos are having fun encouraging fan speculation on the subject with their tweet. However, upon posting their message, fans were quick to respond by asking what, to them, is the more important question: where the heck is Hawkeye in all this?

We know from the Infinity War prelude comics that the Soul Stone is possibly the most dangerous of all six Infinity Gems. Many fans speculated that it would be unveiled in Black Panther via the appearance of the Ancestral Plane - a dimension where the current Wakandan king can visit to reconnect with his departed predecessors - but that wasn't the case. Director Ryan Coogler later explained that since Vibranium serves as the film's MacGuffin, there simply wasn't room for an Infinity Stone in Black Panther. That's not to say the Stone isn't in the fictional African nation. It could still turn out to be what powers the Vibranium and the heart-shaped herb. Not to mention, Infinity War's third act takes place in Wakanda for a reason.

Then again, the Avengers might be backing themselves into a corner, should this prove to be the case. Cap decides to bring Vision to Wakanda in the hopes that the high-tech nation will be the best place to keep him safe, considering that the Mind Stone is in his forehead. If our heroes fail to prevent Thanos from totally taking over the kingdom, he might end up walking away with two stones instead of one - leaving only the Time Stone (which Doctor Strange has) and the Reality Stone (which the Collector presumably still has) missing from his collection. A leaked Avengers: Infinity War scene from last year teased the Mad Titan's visit to Taneleer Tivan, so he might already have the latter by the time that he attacks Wakanda in the film. We will find out for certain when the movie hits theaters next month.
