Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo have shared fan art of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel to their social media accounts. Marvel Comics fans have been waiting years to see Carol Danvers show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but to no avail. Joss Whedon has early plans to introduce Captain Marvel at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, but that never actually came close to happening. Even after the Captain Marvel solo movie was officially added to the MCU's Phase 3 slate, it was subsequently pushed back after Infinity War when Spider-Man: Homecoming was added to the docket. Even the initial plan for Captain Marvel to appear in Infinity War before her solo film didn't pan out.

While Carol Danvers now won't join the MCU until her solo film in 2019, she will be back just a couple months after that - when she joins the fight in Avengers 4. Her impressive power set will come in handy in that Phase 3-ending film, and the Avengers 4 writers had fun bringing Captain Marvel and her cosmic abilities to life on the big screen. The Russo brothers have already worked with Larson too, and have since gone ahead and shown her MCU superhero character some love online.

The Russo Brothers posted a piece of Captain Marvel fan art to their Twitter account before they went ahead and made it their profile pic. Although they didn't source the artist, the artwork was created by famed superhero fan artist BossLogic, who shared the piece online yesterday. You can check it out below:

This isn't the first time the Russo have shown BossLogic some roundabout love. They posted his Thanos/Logan mashup artwork, made his Avengers: Infinity War Hawkeye poster their Facebook banner, and his 'Last Shawarma' piece is their Twitter banner. They haven't been crediting him in the process, but the Internet has managed to put together the pieces. It's not just the Russos who admire his work, either. One of BossLogic's Twitter followers captured an endearing exchange between Larson and the artist after he shared his work on Instagram.

BossLogic has been making a name for himself over the years with his poster mockups and concept art of actors as superheroes, and has continued to gain more and more recognition for his efforts along the way. He's provided a steady stream of artwork showing Brie Larson as Captain Marvel since she was announced in the role, and his artwork isn't too far off from the official Captain Marvel costume that Larson has since been spotted wearing on the Captain Marvel movie set.

With Captain Marvel now filming and bringing a number of familiar faces back to the MCU (as a result of it taking place during the 1990s), Carol Danvers is about to become a major player in Marvel's big screen franchise. For now though, everyone will have to wait until Avengers 4 to watch her  join forces with Earth's Mightiest Heroes - unless, of course, she ends up appearing in one of Avengers: Infinity War's post-credits scenes.
