Mark Ruffalo, Chadwick Boseman & Danai Gurira Interview: Infinity War

Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira and Mark Ruffalo will be among those in the front lines of the defense of Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War. Screen Rant was able to chat with the trio of actors this weekend ahead of the film’s red carpet premiere.

SR: First question I have is, you guys are brilliant at playing the characters you play. However, as a fan of Marvel, if you could play anybody else, any other character, who would it be?

Boseman: Groot.

SR: He's been the most popular answer.

Mark Ruffalo: Groot would be fun group.

Boseman: Doctor Strange.

Danai Gurira: I really like my character.

SR: Speaking of your character, Okyoe, she wasn't too happy on the idea of King T’Challa opening up Wakanda’s borders. Now that there's an alien attack, does she hold any resentment towards him at all for that? And what does she feel about it?

Gurira: Uh, no. Well, you know, we'll, we'll have to see how it all goes. But resentment is not, I don't know if that's a word that I would ever associate with my character, you know, she, at the end of the, you know, the movie that we have seen (Black Panther) you know, she's definitely deeply aligned and she's standing right there by his side at the UN and a very much aligned with the, the idea that now is the time and this is the path. So, you know, we'll see how it goes in the next chapter, but, you know, she's, she's very clear and understanding that the power and the abilities of this nation, it's time to open it up in a very specific way that is the way that T’Challa have very clearly depicts at the end of our last movie. So we'll see what happens in the next, as they step into it.

SR: King T’Challa, question for you. Thanos is coming and it's a huge threat. Something that I think Wakanda is prepared for. Will this have lasting ramifications in Wakanda?

Boseman: Uh, yeah, absolutely. I mean this would be the biggest battle, war that’s hit Wakanda ever, I would say. So you have to have lasting ramifications.

SR: Mark, man, I love the Hulk. He's been the warrior king of Sakaar and now he's coming to Wakanda and meets his match in Thanos. What does that do to the Hulk and Bruce Banner and will that has lasting ramifications throughout the MCU?

Ruffalo: Well, uh, that's, that's tricky. It definitely has ramifications. He's definitely, he's never met, uh, another opponent a quite like that and um, uh, their first encounter sort of a propels what will be, you know, the rest of these next two movies. So, um, and then what ends up happening between Bruce and The Hulk.
