As the Marvel Cinematic Universe unites its greatest heroes and villains for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, the biggest mystery is the location of the Soul Stone, but now some artwork from the movie might have revealed who has it.

The Soul Stone has the potential to be the biggest threat of all the stones, not only helping Thanos complete his Infinity Gauntlet, but also the power of the stone itself. Absorbing the souls and knowledge of those around it, it could spell big trouble for the Avengers if it fell into the wrong hands. That's the thing though, for now, audiences have to assume that the Soul Stone is under the care of someone fighting for the side of good.

Ahead of Infinity War, some art has made its way online (via Reddit user Suprxeme), showing where the stones are and who has them. The art comes from the movie tie-in novel, IncrediBuilds: Marvel: Infinity Gauntlet Deluxe Book and Model Set. In the art, Vision is linked to the Mind Stone, Star-Lord the Power Stone, and Doctor Strange the Time Stone. The interesting thing to note is that Tony Stark appears to be the one with the Soul Stone.

While many expected Black Panther to reveal the Soul Stone in the heart of Wakanda, Ryan Coogler saved the mystery for the Russo Brothers to explain in Infinity War. While it is unlikely that Thanos will complete the Infinity Gauntlet until at least the end of the movie, the hunt for the Soul Stone promises to be a major plot point. If Stark is the one to uncover/guard it, this could have something to do with the reveal that he has a brand new Arc Reactor back on his chest.

Since kickstarting the MCU with his own standalone in 2008, Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark has continued to be a major focal point of the franchise. With three solo movies, a major part in the first two Avengers outings, and popping up in Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming, it makes sense that Stark play an equally big role in the gathering of the Infinity Stones. Equally though, with Adam Warlock being so heavily linked to the powerful gem in the comics, it will be interesting to see how the Russo Brothers might change the story to include one of the Avengers.

Interestingly though, note that Chris Evans' Captain America is pictured alongside the Space Stone. This could be because Red Skull first wielded it, but there is so far no link between Stark and the Soul Stone. The past 18 MCU movies have built toward Thanos' master plan and the reveal of the Soul Stone, but fans will have to wait a little longer to see whether Tony Stark really is the one to hold the Soul Stone or someone else gets their time to shine.
