Hawkeye saves the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this fan-made alternate ending for Avengers: Infinity War. One of the biggest questions heading into Infinity War was what role Marvel's resident sharpshooter would have. Jeremy Renner was completely held out of the marketing, making many wonder where he is. When Infinity War finally hit theaters, Hawkeye was nowhere to be seen, with only a name drop saying he retired explaining his absence. This is supposedly all part of a bigger arc for Clint Barton that continues in Avengers 4, but many still wish he was involved.

Renner has received the least amount of screen time and character development over his seven years of playing Hawkeye, so there's plenty of desire for him to be given an elevated role. Considering how Infinity War was structured with heroes split up into various teams and locations, Hawkeye likely would've had a small role even if he was included. That is, unless this alternate ending idea was used.

Redditor _Levitated_Shield_ shared their idea for an alternate ending to Infinity War that allowed for Hawkeye to save the day. The video brings Hawkeye into the fight in Wakanda. Right as Thanos is about to snap his fingers and succeed in wiping out half of the universe's population, one of Hawkeye's perfectly shot arrows flies in for the kill shot.

Fans are already having fun with this edit due to the fan-made qualities of it. The edit repurposes footage from The Avengers, so many are pointing out the insane accuracy of Hawkeye, as he shot an arrow from the top of a New York building all the way to Wakanda (and through its protective shield) with perfect precision. Hawkeye always says he never misses, but pulling this shot off would easily be his most impressive, and his biggest moment.

As much as some would've liked to see Hawkeye have any level of role in Infinity War, this type of heroic moment was never going to happen. Thanos had to win in order to set up the events of Avengers 4, which will turn Hawkeye into Ronin. His darker turn is widely expected to be the result of Thanos' snap, as it is heavily theorized that the rest of the Barton family are among the victims. If that is how Clint's arc shapes up in Avengers 4, then his personal vendetta against Thanos could lead to him getting his shot next year. Avengers: Infinity War proved just how difficult it is to produce one drop of Thanos' blood, so Hawkeye better pack some extra special weapons if he wants any chance of taking Thanos down in Avengers 4.
