Here's nine possible clues of a time jump in Avengers: Endgame. Marvel Studios is keeping such a tight lid on the plot of Avengers 4 that even the first trailer for the epic Phase 3 conclusion didn't reveal too many details. However, one aspect of the film many are trying to figure out is whether or not it does have a time jump.

The theories of a time jump in Avengers 4 started to pop up during production, when it looked like a much older version of Tony Stark (as played by Robert Downey Jr.) was involved in the time traveling story. Rumors that followed claimed the film will take place five years after Thanos' snap from Avengers: Infinity War. This speculation only became more common after Infinity War's release too. None of this has yet been confirmed by Marvel, and even the first trailer didn't do a lot to prove there is a massive time jump. But, there may still be several clues to this narrative choice taking place next year when the Avengers and Thanos meet up again.

Screen Rant compiled a list of nine different elements to Avengers: Endgame that reveal the long-rumored time jump. Some details as small as Black Widow's (Scarlett Johansson) hair or the lack of scars and bruised on the faces of all the heroes could be interpreted as signs of a time jump. But, there's also some larger hints at Marvel Studios and directors Anthony and Joe Russo using a time jump, as explained in the following video.

Since it is widely believed that Avengers 4 will feature a major time jump, it will be fascinating to see how Marvel handles this element of the plot in the marketing. The lack of details confirmed to this point could mean that they'll attempt to not reveal as much as possible about the plot, which could make the time jump something not focused on. However, there is also the possibility that a standard time jump is not what will happen in Avengers 4. Time travel appears to be key to the film's plot and the Avengers' plan to bring back the snap victims, so fans could see a major passage of time if the heroes were to travel to the future instead.

Whether Avengers: Endgame's plot involves time travel, a time jump, or both, there's clearly possible teases for it all. Marvel's only just begun the marketing campaign after all, so those looking forward to Avengers: Endgame will likely be combing through every frame of future trailers and TV spots to see if there are any other possible hints of the time jump arrive. This should only make the theorizing and speculation surrounding the film to continue all the way up until the film's release next April.
