Marvel fans have been anxiously awaiting the day when Avengers: Endgame tickets went up for pre-sale. Many fans knew that the tickets were becoming available today, and they were ready to scoop them up and secure their spot on opening night. While the fans might have been prepared for this moment, the movie theaters and sites that sell tickets were not. Across the country fans trying to use sites such as Fandango and AMC found the websites were crashing or that wait times to pick their ticket were hours long. Of course, fans were not happy about this since seeing this movie as soon as possible is a must.

DO THESE TICKETS EVEN EXIST?

Of course, it wouldn’t be right if fans didn’t make some Thanos jokes when trying to get these tickets.

This clever meme shows the seats of the theater on the online ticketing page floating away into dust. Fans definitely felt like those tickets were so close, basically right in front of them, only to float away from their hands. Maybe Thanos snapped half of the Avengers: Endgame tickets in the universe, too?

SYSTEM OVERLOAD

Even though many people bought Infinity War tickets right away, too, it looks like the sites were not ready for the onslaught of Marvel fans. Hype is at an all-time high, and all the MCU fans want to know what is actually going to happen in this movie. The websites were definitely struggling to handle all of the anxious fans, and this reaction video posted up by a fan shows this fact in a hilarious manner.

THE STRUGGLE IS VERY REAL

Lots of fans were using a variety of memes, reaction images, and even short videos to express their feelings about this struggle to buy tickets. It definitely felt like fans were having to beg at the door of the theaters to get their tickets. Many fans were going from website to website trying to find a ticket, with little success. Luckily, fans on Twitter always use humor to help deal with these frustrating times.

THIS FEELS DELIBERATE

Obviously, the theaters as well as Marvel and Disney want to sell as many tickets as possible. They want to make money, so of course any issues weren’t meant to happen.

However, for many fans trying to buy their tickets, the whole process felt a little targeted. With all the hype around buying tickets, to be locked out from actually getting to buy one was super stressful as well as funny and ironic to many people.

WORK ISN’T GETTING DONE TODAY

One problem many fans were facing was the fact that these tickets opened up in the morning of a Tuesday, a day when most people are at work. You have to get the tickets quickly if you want a good seat on opening night, but the process was taking hours for many people. Many fans reported waiting 4-5 hours to actually get their tickets, and some are still struggling with the sites to get theirs locked down. This is definitely not a great day for productivity.

SWEET, SWEET VICTORY

While the wait for many people was long and frustrating with long wait times and websites crashing even when they almost had a ticket bought, the feeling of finally getting tickets was exciting and a big relief. Some fans on Twitter expressed their joyous excitement of finally buying their tickets and knowing they're going to be one of the first people to see the film through some hilarious gifs.

GUESS THE OLD FASHIONED WAY IS BEST

These days, it’s pretty rare for people to go to the theater to buy tickets. Especially on a Tuesday morning, it’s hard for most people to physically make it to a theater to buy a movie ticket. But, that’s just what many people did. Since the websites were such a disaster, dedicated fans who didn’t want to leave fate up to chance went to the theater to buy their tickets and found success that way.

You know things are bad when you have people on the internet leaving the internet to track down what they want.

IT’S LIKE WE HAD TO PROVE OUR DEVOTION

Many people used classic gifs and memes to express their excitement when they got their tickets. Sometimes, the classic reactions are best. In some ways, it felt like fans really had to work to get these tickets, which probably isn’t the best feeling to create. However, it could be a metaphor to the long road and struggle ahead for the Avengers in Avengers: Endgame itself.

IMAX TICKETS ARE LIKE WINNING THE LOTTERY

The most coveted tickets of all were the IMAX tickets. While fans can always see the movie again, being able to see Endgame on opening night in an IMAX theater is the ideal experience. Getting these tickets almost felt like winning the lottery for some fans as the amount of IMAX theaters and seats is very limited. If you’re one of the few, count yourself lucky.

THE WHOLE PROCESS FELT LIKE THIS

Fans have been waiting for weeks it seems to get the chance to buy the tickets. And, they still had to wait even when the shiny object was placed in front of them. People with only big theaters in their cities had a lot of trouble while fans in smaller cities with local theaters had an easier time. The whole struggle had many fans saying “come on, AMC, get your site (and yourselves) together!” Hopefully, all of the fans who really want a ticket and waited, end up getting their ticket so they can look forward to the movie instead of feeling let down.
