An Avengers: Endgame Thanos figure offers fans a closer look at the Mad Titan's brand new armor and weapon for the new film. In less than three weeks, Marvel Studios' culminating film will hit theaters, capping off a 22-film arc that began in 2008 with Jon Favreau's Iron Man. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo with the script written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the film is the direct sequel to last year's Avengers: Infinity War, and will deal with the aftermath of The Decimation that disintegrated half of life in the universe. With the surviving heroes' backs against the wall, fans will see the Avengers at their most desperate.

Following the accomplishment of his goal, Thanos transported to an unknown planet where he seems to have retired as insinuated by the first trailer for Endgame. Not much is known regarding what he's been up to since he snapped his fingers and marketing for Avengers 4 barely features him, but with the power of the six Infinity Stones still in his hands, he remains to be a dangerous foe for the Avengers. Aside from the completed Infinity Gauntlet, the Mad Titan will also sport a brand new weapon and armor, indicating that he'll be ready for battle any time the heroes try to attack. Now, a new piece of tie-in merchandise gives fans the opportunity to inspect the villain's new garb before the film hits theaters.

Sideshow unveiled the Thanos Deluxe Version statue by Iron Studios. Measuring 14.1" in height. 5.5" in width and 10.2" in depth, the figure features a "fully detailed base, Die Cast sword, interchangeable left arm and portrait and a LED light-up Gauntlet." Based on the Mad Titan's appearance in Endgame, it gives fans a closer look at the villain, especially its intriguing new double-edged weapon.

Thanos armor on scarecrow form in the MCU

Infinity War began with Thanos sporting his armor, with his appearance closer to his comic books look. But as the film progressed, he started taking his suit off as he became more powerful thanks to the Infinity Stones. While fans have seen the Mad Titan's armor hanging like a scarecrow on Titan 2 (another comics nod), the first time he's appeared in action in Endgame's special look revealed him sporting it on, complete with the helmet. Considering that he still has the completed Gauntlet, it's curious what the need is for both the armor and the new weapon.  Since fans never saw the double-edged sword in Avengers 3, where it came from is another question altogether.

Since there's very little known about how the Infinity Stones work, it's hard to gauge what effect using all six of them at the same time has to the Gauntlet's wielder. Thanos' whole left arm was physically wrecked after enacting the snap, but perhaps he's also nursing other side effects from his actions. That would explain why he needs to don his armor and use another weapon for his inevitable face off against the Avengers.

With the heroes stopping at nothing to make sure that Thanos is defeated and peace and order in the universe is restored, the Mad Titan should be ready for a more determined and united Earth's Mightiest Heroes. His journey in Infinity War wasn't easy having to sacrifice Gamora, but the fact that he fought a fractured Avengers arguably made things more convenient for him. It'll be interesting to see how he'll fare against the heroes the second time in Avengers: Endgame.
