Hot Toys has unveiled their 1/6th Thanos Collectible Figure inspired by the Mad Titan's appearance in Avengers: Endgame and it features him wielding a fancy new weapon: a double-bladed sword. The figure's design is based on Thanos' appearance in the upcoming Marvel epic, giving eagerly awaiting fans a peek at what exactly the Avengers are up against.
Hot Toys is a company known for its accuracy and keen eye for detail when creating their products, crafting them with real materials instead of just paint. This is also a reason behind the high cost for their collectibles, but it's all worth it when seeing the high quality finished product. Not to mention, the accuracy of Hot Toys' figurines makes them a good opportunity to examine what the characters in highly anticipated films like Endgame will look like and learn new details, as this incredible Thanos collectible proves.
The 1/6th Thanos Collectible Figure doesn't skimp on details, including a helmet attachable on both head sculpts, character-themed figure base, and the Infinity Gauntlet with LED lights and interchangeable hands containing all six infinity stones as well. Per Hot Toys' description, the company has "dedicated its great effort to create the latest Avengers: Infinity War collectibles based on the most up-to-date details," and that the collectible figure is "meticulously crafted with impressive likeness based on the main appearance of Thanos." These small details serve a far greater purpose than just being a small toy, they give Marvel fans all over the world a look at what exactly the supervillain is working with in the upcoming feature. Not only does Thanos still have the power of the Infinity Gauntlet, but he's fully prepared to head into battle against the Avengers in a full suit of armor with a massive double-bladed sword at his side.
In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos successfully wiped out half of humanity with just a snap of his fingers. The shocking act left Earth's Mightiest Heroes (and theater-goers) in a state of shock. With Infinity War's monumental success, Marvel has been adamant on keeping any production details for Avengers: Endgame tightly sealed away, only giving away small peaks at the film through their trailers.
Hot Toys' latest collectible is the perfect way to whet the appetite of Marvel fans eagerly anticipating an epic battle in Avengers: Endgame while also feeding into the endless threads of online theories. Thanos' double-bladed sword shows that he may have known his time in the Garden wasn't always going to be a peaceful one. By armoring himself with more than just the Infinity Gauntlet, it's a sign that he's expecting the Avengers to seek revenge and possibly fearful the Gauntlet won't be enough to stop them. With Carol Danvers entering the fray as well, the stakes are higher, further, and faster, and perhaps the Mad Titan is anticipating the turning tides.
