An Avengers fan has responded to one of the best Avengers: Endgame theories by tweeting hilarious fan art of Josh Brolin’s villain Thanos. With the release of Avengers: Endgame mere weeks away, excitement is building everyday and Marvel fans are looking forward to finally learning the fate of half the universe after the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War last year. In the meantime, however, fans are spending their time wisely by speculating wildly as to how exactly Avengers: Endgame will pan out.

Considering how hush-hush Disney has been about Avengers: Endgame, the fan theories emerging in the run-up to its April 26 release are understandable as the hype grows. Plenty of theories have been discussed, such as the central role the Skrulls may play in Endgame and whether or not the movie will kickstart the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse. The funniest and most out-there Endgame fan theory, however, speculates that Ant-Man will be the one to bring Thanos to his knees. How? By shrinking himself and leaping into the Mad Titan’s anus before expanding and presumably ending the villain in a particularly painful manner. It’s unofficially called the ‘Thanus theory’ and it’s gaining a lot of traction thanks to its hilarity. So far, fans have responded by editing together clips from the Endgame trailer and Avengers: Infinity War so they depict Ant-Man bravely vaulting into Thanos’ rectum. Even Thanos actor Josh Brolin got on board the theory by posting a clip of himself straining on the toilet with the hashtag #flushantman on Instagram.

The latest fan response is just as funny. Using Brolin’s clip as a starting point, Twitter user BossLogic created fan art that shows Thanos posting an Instagram picture of himself on the toilet (username: yaboythanos) with the caption “I’m sorry little one.” Other Avengers Instagram accounts reply to the post including Deadpool in a typically crude manner - which earns him a telling off from Captain America - and Thor, who threatens to whack Thanos in the head with his hammer.

Obviously, this isn’t a fan theory we’re likely to see come true. But however slim the likelihood of Ant-Man defeating Thanos by destroying his anus, the idea that Ant-Man could play a central role in the Mad Titan’s downfall is something fans have fallen in love with. In fact, after Avengers: Infinity War was released last year, fans spoofed a clip that saw Ant-Man showing up and saving the day by using his size-changing abilities to steal the Infinity Stones.

Despite the expected absence of Ant-Man’s anal heroics in Avengers: Endgame, it’s still fun for fans to entertain while they’re drip-fed info in the meantime. Still, we know that the Quantum Realm is very likely to feature in Avengers: Endgame and seeing as Ant-Man already has connections to the Quantum Realm, we can reliably speculate that he’ll play a pivotal role in bringing down Thanos -just probably not a role than involves the villain’s anus.
